Westworld season 3 has already shown us that plenty of human characters have been replaced by the robotic hosts of the parks. However, there's also a number of characters from throughout the three seasons that may have already succumbed to this fate.
What's more, there could be a few twists down the line, which reveal that some of these characters were never even human at all! Here are 10 characters in the last three seasons of Westworld who may secretly have been hosts the whole time, or replaced by this technological species.
LOGAN DELOS
Logan Delos may have never have been human, to begin with. We know that Logan died of a drug overdose, after suffering from his relationship with his father and the fame and fortune that came with the Delos name.
But was there actually more to this than we actually knew? Perhaps Logan had always been a host; a robotic son that James Delos built who would inherit the business. Of course, the psychological impact of his life may have ended this plan before it really took off.
SYLVESTER
Sylvester is one of the two key medics that we see throughout the show, whose job it is to patch up the hosts after they've been killed or damaged. The assumption has always been that he's a human that doesn't really want to get on board with Maeve's plans.
However, he may actually be another host who is programmed to believe he is human and to fight against any kind of rebellion like this. It would be quite the ironic twist considering he's spent a lot of the show resisting the demands of the hosts.
ROBERT FORD
Robert Ford was killed at the end of season 1 in dramatic fashion, but there have always been fan theories that suggest he could have actually been a robot. There are three ways to look at this. The first is that Ford isn't dead at all and a host took his place in the shooting.
The second is that he may have created a host to carry on his duties once he had died. The third idea is that Robert Ford was the first and now the most powerful robot that Arnold had ever created and that's why he has created a rebellious piece of programming in the hosts.
FELIX LUTZ
Much like Sylvester, Felix has the role of patching up all the broken hosts. There's a significant personality difference between these two colleagues, however. Felix is much more empathetic towards Maeve and actually supports the cause they are fighting for.
Much like his coworker, perhaps Felix is actually the host in disguise. This would explain his willingness to help them, asides from the fact he has a very caring personality. Lutz has had quite a big role so far and we feel it could be expanded even further.
ASHLEY STUBBS
Ashley Stubbs was left questioning his own reality at the end of the last season. Doubt was put into his own mind about the legitimacy of his humanity. As one of the leading members of the security team, it would make perfect sense to remove human error.
Having a host in this role would also be a way to protect life. It could well be that Stubbs was never human and this season will follow him coming to terms with the fact that's his whole life may have been one big lie.
THE MAN IN BLACK
William has been implied to be a host a few times, but the end of the last season seemingly confirmed it. However, in typical Westworld fashion, this could all be a trick, planned to put doubt in the man in black's mind.
Despite this, there's a lot of impact behind the idea that William has now been replaced by a robot. It would make sense for the character's arc and we've seen in the trailers that this new realization may have actually given this villain a true purpose in life.
ELSIE HUGHES
Elsie is supposedly dead but that shouldn't stop her from coming back in some way. She could totally have been a host the whole time, designed by Ford in order to work out what the company was trying to do to his parks.
There's also the other option that Elsie has been rebuilt as a host, perhaps in order to honor the fallen warrior, or maybe even to try to manipulate her murderer Charlotte Hale, using her guilt against her. This would, of course, be complicated by Hale's own replacement.
LEE SIZEMORE
The cocky writer for the theme parks, Lee Sizemore, had quite the journey over the first two seasons. After getting gunned down trying to protect the hosts, there's a possibility that he too could have been one of them.
If Ford wanted an element of control over the storylines that were being told, then he'd program his own writer to pass off his ideas as their own. It's a genius move and would explain how he was always one step ahead.
CALEB NICHOLS
Caleb is one of the newest characters to be introduced to the show and we don't know too much about him so far. We do know that he is a former soldier, works in a number of low paying jobs and his best friend was killed in action.
We also know that he has no problem taking on some unsavory work in order to provide for his family. It looks as if his path will cross with Dolores, but is that because he's actually been a host trying to fit in the world for some time?
ASH
Ash is one of the other humans working alongside Caleb on some of these dangerous missions. It's even more possible that this character could actually be a previously escaped host.
She has no issue with getting into conflict and the trailers for the show have actually shown her fighting with Dolores. There's a possibility that at least one of Caleb's friends is a host and we'd put our money on it being Ash.
