Wes Anderson's still-untitled next film continues to put together its stellar cast with the addition of Margot Robbie. The film will serve as the director's follow-up to the long-delayed The French Dispatch, finally slated for release in October. As with any film written and directed by Anderson, he's guaranteed to bring his noted wit, unique style, and a large cast of talented actors to his new project.
According to THR, Robbie will be taking on a supporting role in Anderson's film, and she's joining a few of his regular collaborators. Bill Murray, Tilda Swinton, and Adrien Brody are all returning for another chance to work with Anderson, but Robbie won't be the only new actor tapped for the ensemble cast. Tom Hanks also made headlines recently when he signed on for his first foray into Anderon's films, which may also help the auteur's work find a wider audience.
Robbie seems to be working Anderon's new film into her already busy schedule, which sees her working with some of Hollywood's most talented writers and directors. James Gunn's The Suicide Squad, which sees Robbie reprise her role as Harley Quinn, just hit theaters to stellar critical reception. In addition, Robbie recently finished work on an untitled David O. Russell film, and she is currently filming Babylon, the new film from acclaimed Whiplash and La La Land director Damien Chazelle.
Along with Anderson's film, one of her subsequent roles will be in Greta Gerwig's Barbie film, which will see Robbie playing the titular character based on the popular toys. Minimal details have been shared on the nature of Anderson's newest project, but it is slated to begin production later this month in Spain. Further information about Anderson's next film, including the eventual title and Robbie's role, will be released as the project develops.
