Jeff Goldblum opens up about working with director Wes Anderson on the upcoming film Asteroid City. Starring an ensemble of frequent Anderson collaborators such as Tilda Swinton, Bill Murray, and Jason Schwartzman, the film will also mark the director's first collaboration with Tom Hanks and Margot Robbie. Principal photography on Asteroid City took place in Chinchón, Spain, and wrapped shooting in November of last year.

Plot details surrounding Asteroid City have been kept a secret, leaving many fans wondering what exactly the auteur has in store for his next film. The title was kept under wraps until last year's BFI's London Film Festival, where Murray revealed the project's name, and added, "we're shooting it in Spain, about 45 minutes from Madrid. It’s fun out there, we’re having a nice time." Murray is just one of several recurring actors in Anderson's circle, which also includes Goldblum. The actor previously worked with Anderson on The Grand Budapest Hotel in 2014 and Isle of Dogs in 2018.

While doing press for his upcoming film, Jurassic World DominionGoldblum teased his role in Asteroid City and opened up about working with Anderson and his co-stars. As reported by ComicBook, Goldblum described his mysterious role as "kind of tasty" and gushed over the film's "amazing cast," without giving away any specific details. His full quote can be read below:

Ooh, good question. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Well, I like being able to work in the series of movies that are a little bit related to each other, even though they're very different, of the great Wes Anderson. He's a genius. I adore him, and in fact, I don't want to give anything away, but I have a little bit of a sprig of a something, maybe kind of tasty, in this next thing that he does. We were in Spain and with an amazing cast, as you can imagine, and had a good time of it.

Asteroid City isn't the only big project Anderson has on the horizon. Earlier this year, it was reported that Benedict Cumberbatch would be leading the auteur's next film, The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar and Six More, which is set to release on Netflix. The film is based on a collection of short stories written by Roald Dahl, the same author whose children's novel, Fantastic Mr. Fox, inspired Anderson's 2009 film of the same name. It's safe to assume that audiences can expect Asteroid City to hit theaters prior to seeing The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar and Six More, though a premiere date for either of the films has yet to be confirmed.

As of now, Asteroid City is currently expected to release in 2022. It's rumored that Anderson, who's historically debuted his films at the annual Cannes Festival, is eyeing a Venice Film Festival debut for his upcoming film. While not much remains known about the film, with the cast having been described as being "larger than most other Anderson films that are ensemble in nature," Asteroid City is sure to be yet another memorable installment in the filmmaker's body of work.
