Laura Donnelly, who plays Elsa Bloodstone in Marvel's Werewolf by Night, addresses her character's MCU future. Although previously best known as a composer for films like The Batman, Spider-Man: No Way Home, and War for the Planet of the Apes, Michael Giacchino steps into the director's chair for Werewolf by Night. The first "Marvel Studios Special Presentation," Werewolf by Night chronicles a group of legendary monster hunters as they gather to take on a fearsome beast and retrieve a relic known as the Bloodstone. The Disney+ special has been a hit with audiences and critics alike, with many praising its standalone nature and unique creative choices.

Werewolf by Night introduces a handful of exciting new characters into the MCU, including werewolf Jack Russell (Gael García Bernal), Man-Thing (Carey Jones), and Elsa, a vampire hunter. Although initially pitted against each other in their search for the Bloodstone, Jack and Elsa quickly become allies as they work together to outsmart other hunters and escape the mansion with their lives. Werewolf by Night ends with all the other monster hunters dead and Elsa in possession of the Bloodstone. While it's not clear what becomes of Elsa, Jack and Man-Thing escape the mansion and are later shown in a wooded area, enjoying some coffee after the events of the previous night.

In a new interview with Den of Geek, Laura Donnelly opens up about what the future may hold for Elsa Bloodstone in the MCU following Werewolf by Night. Giacchino's film has largely been promoted as a standalone project, but Donnelly certainly seems interested in returning as Elsa down the line. Check out Donnelly's full comment below:

“I would do anything that they would let me do. If they call me and tell me what I’m doing, I’ll be very happy. I have no idea though. That one’s above my pay grade. But yeah, she’s part of all of these different team-ups, and I love the idea of that.”

Elsa Bloodstone's Marvel Comics Team-Ups & Possible MCU Future Explained

Elsa Bloodstone (Laura Donnelly) in Werewolf by Night.

Donnelly's comment about her MCU future is largely par for the course when it comes to Marvel, with many actors frequently not clear on if or when they'll be asked to return. If Donnelly does return as Elsa Bloodstone after Werewolf by Night, however, there's certainly no shortage of material to draw from. Having only been introduced in the comics back in 2001, the character is still relatively new compared to some other Marvel heroes like Captain America, Hulk, or Spider-Man. Despite being a relative newcomer, however, Elsa has already crossed paths with some major Marvel heavyweights in the comics, including the likes of Blade, the Avengers, and the Thunderbolts.

Considering their shared monster-hunting profession, a team-up with Mahershala Ali's Blade would actually make a lot of sense for Elsa. Although Marvel's Blade movie has had a rocky development process and has currently been paused, there's a chance Elsa and Ali's vampire slayer could interact at some point down the line. With Thunderbolts and two new Avengers movies also on the horizon, Elsa Bloodstone's future in the MCU after Werewolf by Night has the potential to be very exciting.
