Kim Plath is nowhere to be found in a new photo Moriah Plath shared, and Welcome To Plathville fans are concerned. Kim and Moriah have had a strained relationship for years, and they've never tried to hide it in the series. Moriah moved out when she was around 18 years old after Kim informed her if she was going to keep living at home, she had to follow Kim's rules. Moriah decided she'd rather live elsewhere. Things worsened for the family when Kim and Barry Plath announced they'd be getting a divorce. In October 2022, Kim was arrested for a DUI, causing more problems for the Plath family.
Recently, Welcome To Plathville's Moriah shared a family photo on Instagram, but Kim was not included in it.
Reddit user FoxSeaHole wondered where the mother of nine was, writing, "Once again, no Kim. Any theories? Is she in a treatment facility or did she get the X from everyone?" Fans theorized in the replies guessing that Kim wasn't at the family gathering because Barry was there or Moriah is simply trying to cause fan chatter to promote the upcoming Welcome To Plathville season 5. "Most times when in process of divorcing, both parents aren't in the group photos with the children," one fan wrote.

Another Welcome To Plathville fan suggested, "they know their season coming up soon, so they prob doing this to get us talking." The fan says Moriah did the same thing with previous seasons of the TLC show. However, one fan had a more complex theory. The Welcome To Plathville fan thinks Kim gave up on being a mother after raising Moriah, Micah, and Ethan Plath and now expects Lydia Plath to raise the rest of the kids. She also thinks Kim may have been having an affair, and her children found out. "I think there was more going on with that Nigel guy she randomly brought home for dinner," the Welcome To Plathville fan explained.
Welcome To Plathville fans make some good points, and all theories are a possibility. It's unlikely the family is as close as they used to be for several reasons, but Kim and Barry's divorce is a good reason for the whole family not to be hanging out together anymore. At the same time, Moriah is the rebellious one, and if she's trying to create controversy to promote Welcome To Plathville, it wouldn't be surprising, but it does seem to be working. The last fan theory is a stretch and based on little evidence, though anything's possible.
It's important to note that not every member of the Plath family was in the picture. Only Barry, Moriah, Lydia, Amber, Cassia, and Mercy Plath are, leaving out Ethan, Micah, and the oldest Plath daughter Hosanna Noble, who has an odd relationship with her family. If fans think it's strange that Kim is missing from the photo, then they should find it equally odd that the other family members aren't in the picture. Welcome To Plathville fans love to speculate, but it doesn't seem like Moriah was intentionally leaving her mother out.
