Welcome to Plathville father and son, Ethan and Barry Plath, almost ended the season in a fistfight because his father was trying to prove a point. The two men became so heated that they couldn't see past their hate to reconcile. The Plath family are no longer tight-knit like viewers saw in the first season
They have broken up into three separate households due to the parent's strict morals. Ethan and Oliva have made it perfectly clear that they want nothing to do with their parents since they tried to ruin their marriage and rip down Olivia's self-esteem. The young couple is looking to move far away and not looking back.
Fans were gobsmacked during the season finale as Ethan tried to say goodbye to his siblings but instead got into a war of words. While Ethan did come in hot, his father tried too hard to peacock, which led to the tough roughing one another up a bit.
Ethan had been stewing all weekend and decided he wanted to confront his parents, but Oliva wanted no part and sat in the car. In a bold but aggressive statement, he told his parents, "So, I'm going to keep this short and sweet. I've come by to tell you two, and hopefully my siblings, that Olivia and I are going to be moving in the near future. And as far as I can see it, there still will be no contact between us. And I'd like to say goodbye to my siblings and say goodbye to you. This isn't a debate or conversation — this is my statement to you." Ethan continued to finally stand up for his wife saying, "I want both of you to know that I love Olivia more than you will probably ever know, and I really don't understand why either of you felt the need to say the things you've said about Olivia. And I don't even know if you two know what that has put her through, and put me through. And I'm not going to let that happen again. Some of the biggest regrets of my life were listening to you two tell Olivia things about her and I didn't say anything — and I wish to God that I had."
The entire confrontation looked uncomfortable, and Barry seemed to act the most childish. While Kim tried to hear her son, Barry just made odd facial expressions and sassy smiles. He eventually took it upon himself to go and try and confront Olivia, to which Ethan had to stand his ground. For fans, it was sad to see their relationship end in a rumble, but sometimes you have to hit rock bottom before you can start to rebuild a relationship.
