For three seasons, fans have watched Welcome to Plathville, hoping that one of the nine children would stand up to their strict parents, and it's time to talk about the things the children have said about their mom and dad. While they may not have directly shared their views with Kim and Barry Plath, the Plath children have not remained silent. There have been times when one child or another asserted themselves, to the delight of most viewers.

Matriarch and patriarch Kim and Barry decided to raise their children without access to sugar, video games, television, and pop culture. While most viewers can name each Kardashian in age order, the Plath children aren't quite as famous. Before reality fame, the older Plath kids were left to fend for themselves, only making friends with other kids from their church. The younger children, who still live with their parents, need to follow a lot of strict rules. In the eyes of most fans, the family's Christian fundamentalist upbringing has not done the older children any favors. Deep down, viewers feel that the kids must be harboring resentment towards their parents, who ironically lived normal lives until they got married.

The children of Kim and Barry seem to be split down the middle in terms of their personality types. Ethan, Hosanna, and Lydia Plath all came across as meek and mild-mannered. However, Moriah, Micah, and daughter-in-law Olivia Plath have been outspoken on occasion. Back in 2019, Ethan responded to a fan's comment, which showed support for his parents. At the time, Ethan weighed in on Kim and Barry allowing Moriah to go to San Francisco, saying that Kim and Barry only let his sister go to San Francisco with his wife Olivia because of the show. Ethan clapped back, as per InTouch, insisting, "If it had not been for the show, my parents never would have let her go. If you don't believe me, go back and watch where Moriah asked for permission. Their faces say it all … but they didn't want to look bad on TV."

Even Moriah shared a few opinions about her parents, after they described her as being, "wired differently." While Moriah didn't speak negatively about her mom and dad, she did say that she doesn't "agree with everything they say and think." During an Instagram post from 2019, right after she was kicked out of her parent's home, Moriah wrote, "Sometimes you have to go through something that completely destroys you in order to figure out who you really are." During Welcome to Plathville season 2, Moriah spoke candidly about it being "totally wrong" for Barry and Kim to go after Olivia. As for Micah, he revealed on The Domenick Nati Show that he "used to have a lot of regrets about my childhood and still do."

While the older kids in the family may not have specifically called out Kim and Barry due to their child-rearing skills, a lot was inferred from their statements. The fact that four of their children flew the coop at such young ages may speak volumes about their controlling ways. All of the older children have shared that they hope their younger siblings are able to learn more about the world and get better educations. Welcome to Palthville fans will have to wait and see whether or not Kim and Barry decide to change for the better.
