Welcome to Plathville star Moriah Plath is speaking up on why her older sister Hosanna Plath isn't featured on the show. The TLC show follows Kim and Barry Plath and their children, who are being raised in a conservative Christian household void of modern technology like TV and computers. They're also not allowed to have sugar, which resulted in older brother Ethan Plath trying a coca-cola for the first time on the show. Because of their restrictive upbringing, growing up on an isolated farm in rural Georgia, they're not exposed to most things that normal kids are.

Raising their kids in such a restrictive way has led to some of their children rebelling against Kim and Barry. Moriah was the Plath to rebel the most in the first two seasons, doing things like dyeing her hair, wearing more revealing clothes and even getting a tattoo. She also moved out of the family farm with her brother, Micah Plath. Micah went against his family's values by starting a modeling career and posing shirtless on Instagram. Ethan and his wife, Olivia Plath, have also had their fair share of drama with his parents. Kim and Barry don't like that Olivia showed Ethan a world outside of their strict morals, so they've always resented her influence on him. Season 2 ended with a heated fight between Ethan and his parents as he supported Olivia.

While Welcome to Plathville follows both the Plath's that have rebelled against the system and the ones that still live on the family farm, Hosanna has always been the one sibling missing from the show. Moriah recently revealed that her older sister got married young and wanted a life away from the cameras. "She got married at a young age and moved off with her husband and started her life somewhere else,” Moriah told Us Weekly. “And she didn’t want to be on the show, and we were kind of all just, like, yeah, I mean, it’s her life … Sometimes we keep in touch to some extent, but it’s also, like, she’s across the country and, you know, it would just be a hassle and she doesn’t want to be on the show.” Micah also chimed on about how much they keep in contact with their sister. "I’ve only seen her a couple of times since [they] got married in 2019, I believe. So we’re not like super close. I’m planning on making a road trip [soon] to go and see them,” he said.

Ethan and Olivia's relationship with Kim and Barry also came up in the interview. Olivia exposing Ethan to the real world has never sat right with Kim and Barry, causing constant tension between both pairs. Both Moriah and Micah are still in touch with their brother and sister-in-law, with Micah saying he sees them three or four times a week and Moriah mentioning that she and Ethan hang out all the time. Micah also spoke about how, ideally, his parents would forgive Ethan and Olivia, but he doesn't see that happening anytime soon. "And part of me is also like, if it happens, that’s going to look weird, too. Like, how, how is that gonna happen … after, like, roughly three years of not talking? How? We can’t just bury it all at once. It’s going to take a long time," he said. Micah also said that time and growth would be the biggest things needed to heal their family, but he can't imagine what that would look like after all this time.

Even though fans might be curious about Hosanna and how she fits into the family dynamic, it's probably for the best that she has her own life. Seeing how Kim and Barry have affected Ethan and Olivia's marriage, as well as their other children's lives, it's refreshing to hear of a Plath sibling that's completely removed from their way of life. For curious fans of Welcome to Plathville, maybe Hosanna will make a guest appearance at some point.
