TLC's Welcome To Plathville star Moriah Plath and her boyfriend, Max Kallschmidt, broke up, and the Instagram photo fallout was dramatic, to say the least. Fans were pretty shocked to see the breakup play out, and are looking to see how their relationship continues to develop on the show.
Moriah is the fourth of nine children in the Plath clan. The 17-year-old recently decided to break off from her parents because of their strict Christian and conservative beliefs. Upon moving out of their southern Georgia farmhouse, she moved into a home with her brother, Micah Plath. Shortly after, fans discovered her relationship with Max when Moriah posted a photo with him on Instagram at the end of June 2020. That being said, Moriah has always been pretty open on her social media accounts. While the relationship was somewhat short-lived, it obviously had a profound effect on the TLC star.
On Instagram, Moriah posted, "Obviously gotta work on me [right now] and that’s okay! It’s a never-ending process." The teenage reality TV star hadn't left many clues on her social media about an impending breakup. She was still posting photos of her and Max enjoying their relationship right up until the end. Moriah's post included an emotional video, showing visits to see Max's family, the couple holding hands, and texts expressing what was going on behind the scenes. Moriah said she had been alone and refused to seek help, while also explaining just how serious she was about Max. See her post in full below:
Max also shined some light on the situation, posting on his Instagram account, "Sometimes you have to do the hard thing for the right reason. I won't be taken for granted. I won't be the only one continuously putting in effort." He then went on to explain how he and Moriah decided to be friends, and how both of them are still working on themselves in the present. Many fans in the comments seemed to approve of the way each teenager was handling everything. See his post below:
While it's unconfirmed, many believe this was Moriah's very first relationship. According to her Instagram, Max was the one to end the relationship after she wouldn't open to him about her feelings. In the comments, Moriah's sister-in-law, Olivia Plath, left some encouragement. Fans were pretty shocked to see her comment, "Love you, 'sis', always here for you." Of course, Olivia herself has been struggling to deal with her own relationship, as she has received much criticism from her in-laws, Barry and Kim Plath.
While a young relationship can often be short-lived or rocky, many fans are wondering whether Moriah was working through some issues she was having with her parents. While she and some of her other siblings have become estranged from their family, it seems Moriah has maintained some contact. Many are wondering whether her mother had something to do with the break-up. Only time will tell how Moriah's future relationships play out on Welcome to Plathville.
