Ethan Plath doubts that moving out of Cairo, Georgia, will help save his marriage to Olivia Plath after a rough year on Welcome to Plathville. The eldest Plath has found himself in the center of family drama after it came to light that his parents were not a fan of his wife. As such, both Ethan and Olivia have been fighting an uphill battle throughout their relationship.
Ethan and Olivia came from a similar background, but Olivia was allowed more freedom. As Welcome to Plathville fans know, Ethan grew up in a conservative family and was raised with strict rules. Barry and Kim Plath did not allow TV or sugar in the home. The parents once lived a wild life but wanted to make sure their children were more sheltered. This has led to major tension between the older children and their parents. Ethan finally lost is during the finale of season 2, where he almost came to blows with his father.
The sneak peek for the new episode of Welcome to Plathville is out, and Ethan reveals that not all is as it seems between him and Oliva. Us Weekly shared the video, which showed the 22-year-old confiding in his brother, Micah. The automotive enthusiast shared that life felt really confusing for him, saying, "Trying to move, not moving, moving, whatever. Fighting all the time over where we’re moving to, or if we’re moving. Which I do agree, it would be good for us to get out of Cairo.” Oliva has made it clear she is ready to move to Tallahassee, but her husband doesn't seem so keen on the idea of uprooting their entire lives.
Olivia's issues with her in-laws stem back to their wedding, which took place in 2018. Micah shared that Kim tried to take over the wedding planning and the bossy actions left a bad taste in Olivia's mouth. The young bride felt like no one listened to her and Kim was trying to control her. Ethan also has felt like his mother tried to manipulate him by using his younger siblings against him.
During the season premiere of Welcome to Plathville, fans watched as both Ethan and Oliva looked teary-eyed when asked about the state of their union. Both agreed that they were currently on two different paths, leading TLC viewers to wonder if the couple was going to make it through the season. Olivia may think that a move to a new state will do the trick, but Ethan just isn't sold on the idea.
