With Clayton Echard's season of The Bachelor at a close, Bachelor Nation is now gearing up for Season 19 of The Bachelorette, which premiers in July 2022. Every season opens with the contestants orchestrating their grand entrances, which is a spectacle in and of itself. However, this time is also reserved for viewers to get to know contestants a little better - which means that viewers get to learn about the contestants' jobs.

While most contestants have "normal" occupations, some contestants choose to separate themselves with far-fetched job titles. From fantastical-but-real occupations to thinly veiled cover-ups at unemployment, here are some of the craziest ways contestants have tried to stand out with their titles.

The Bachelor

"Queen" - Victoria Larson, Season 25

Victoria Larson claimed this title in Season 25 of The Bachelor in an attempt to capture Matt James' attention. Larson even wore a crown throughout most of the season to further emphasize her royalty and was carried into her first impression on a litter carried by men.

Although an admirable attempt at standing apart while also claiming her own value, using the title of "queen" seemed a little childish and fantastical. In her quest to find love, Larson's only success was standing out as an out-of-touch bachelorette.

"Never Been Kissed" - Heather Martin, Season 23

Heather Martin chose to share an interesting fact about herself instead of providing a job description as she competed for Colton Underwood's heart in Season 23 of The Bachelor. Saving one's first kiss is certainly an intriguing personal choice to make and be proud of.

However, the wording of this job title makes it seem as though this may not have been her choice at all, but rather a coincidence. It is more than likely that Martin was trying to stand out with this title; however, the wording is vague and ultimately falls flat.

"Dog Lover" - Kelly Travis, Season 18

Kelly Travis claimed this title in Season 18 of The Bachelor as she fought for Juan Pablo Galavis' affection. Although most people would probably claim to love the furry friends, Travis apparently loved dogs enough to consider it her occupation.

This may be an appropriate description for someone who works at an animal shelter, dog groomer, or behavioral trainer. However, Travis never confirmed whether or not she actually worked with the animals professionally. Travis was certainly a relatable bachelorette, but being a "dog lover" just isn't a job.

"Chicken Enthusiast" - Tiara Soleim, Season 20

Tiara Soleim claimed to be a "chicken enthusiast" in Season 20 of The Bachelor in an attempt to set herself apart in the competition for Ben Higgins' heart. In keeping with the title, she did show a passionate enthusiasm for any dish containing chicken; however, "chicken enthusiast" is a personal description, not a job occupation.

Real-life "chicken enthusiasts" are typically more well known under the terms "farmer" or "food critic." While maybe not the cringiest Bachelor contestant ever, Soleim definitely chose an embarrassing way to represent herself on live television.

The Bachelorette

"Hipster" - Brandon Howell, Season 12

Brandon Howell appeared on Season 12 of The Bachelorette in an effort to win Joelle "JoJo" Fletcher's heart. Unfortunately, Howell listed his job description as "hipster," which is troublesome for a number of reasons.

By choosing to list his occupation as something that is definitely not an occupation, Howell might as well have just said that he was not currently employed. Perhaps he was trying to be cool; however, the hipster movement was identified by NOT trying to be cool. Whatever his intention, Howell certainly stood out - but not in a good way.

"Social Media Participant" - Kamil Nicalek, Season 14

Kamil Nicalek christened himself as a "social media participant" in Season 14 of The Bachelorette as he vied for Becca Kufrin's attention. Although Nicalek may certainly have had a job with that title, it seems more like a creative alternative to saying "unemployed."

Anyone with a social media account is a participant in the social media experience, so the expectations for a participant are pretty low. Overall, the job title does make Nicalek stand out as a contestant on The Bachelor, but it does not set him apart as the best choice of contestant.

"WhaBoom" - Lucas Yancey, Season 13

This obscure job description was claimed by Lucas Yancey, who appeared on Season 13 of The Bachelorette in an attempt to find love with Rachel Lindsay. This job title was supposedly a nod to his real occupation as a comedian, as well as a reference to his catchphrase, "WhaBoom."

Yancey did indeed announce himself via his signature regularly while on the show; however, "whaboom" is an incredibly misleading job title. Yancey was likely trying to set himself apart with what was in his mind a catchy title - however, he only succeeded in spreading confusion.

"Canadian" - Daniel Maguire, Season 12

Daniel Maguire decided to list his nationality as his job in season 12 of The Bachelorette when he fought alongside Brandon Howell for JoJo's approval. While nationality is certainly something you could share with others, it's not an occupation.

Rather than stand out, Maguire more likely succeeded in prompting questions as to what his actual job was, or whether he had one at all. Being a Canadian resident would have been an interesting tidbit to bring up on a date; however, listing it as a job title creates more questions than it answers.

"Pantsapreneur" - JJ O'Brien, Season 10

JJ O'Brien sported this interestingly unique moniker in Season 10 of The Bachelorette as he courted the affections of Andi Dorfman. While certainly not a Bachelor cliché, this title did actually describe O'Brien's business pursuits.

O'Brien had a business making pants and even gifted a pair while on the show. This job title is a good example of being quirky and fun, while also describing an actual occupation. As one of the only ones to stand out in a good way because of his job title, O'Brien's crazy idea really did work.

"Mushroom Farmer" - Alejandro Velez, Season 8

This interesting occupation was claimed by Alejandro Velez in season 8 of The Bachelorette in an attempt to stand out to Emily Maynard. Although the title is certainly one of the strangest to appear in the entirety of the show, it is quite true to Velez's actual occupation.

Velez is a co-founder and owner of a gourmet mushroom farm called "Back to the Roots" that aims to reconnect urban residents to the process of growing food. Velez's job title happened to stand out by accident, which also makes him the true "hipster."
