Xavier's powers in Wednesday are never fully explored, but Xavier is somehow connected to the Hyde with powers that are similar to Wednesday's. In Netflix's new spin-off of the Addams family story, Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) is sent to a boarding school called Nevermore, which is filled with outcasts like herself, all with unique powers. From werewolves like Wednesday's roommate Enid (Emma Myers) to sirens like Queen Bee Bianca (Joy Sunday), Nevermore is full of magic and secrets. Wednesday runs into Xavier (Percy Hynes White), who it turns out she had met at a funeral when they were children. Xavier takes an interest in Wednesday, but it is not long before his odd behavior makes him a prime suspect for being the monster that is terrorizing Jericho, the Hyde.

Xavier's powers on Wednesday are what cause these suspicions. As an avid painter, Xavier has been having visions of the Hyde, which he paints, but Wednesday believes this is due to him being the Hyde. Like Wednesday's supernatural power being visions, Xavier tells Wednesday that he has dreams of the Hyde, which he then paints. Just as Wednesday has visions of danger from the past or future that help her solve the crimes in Jericho, Xavier's visions are likely similar, but he does not have to touch anything to see them. The Hyde is the most dangerous thing in Jericho, and Xavier's visions are probably a warning to help solve the Hyde problem. Xavier also has the power to bring his paintings to life; he shows Wednesday by bringing a spider to life, which causes the secret monster the Hyde, in his paintings to attack him.

How Xavier's Visions Are Different Than Wednesday's

Netflix; Wednesday Addams; Jenna Ortega; Percy Hynes White

Xavier's two powers are bringing his drawings to life, and psychic abilities, like Wednesday has. However, Xavier's psychic abilities have some key differences from Wednesday's. Wednesday only has her visions when she is touching something that relates to the vision, whereas Xavier's come to him in dreams, and as far as Wednesday shows, they are all related to the Hyde. This could be because the Hyde is Jericho's biggest threat, and Xavier's painting abilities would help identify the monster. Also, with his drawing of the Hyde from his visions coming to life and attacking him, Xavier's visions and his abilities to bring drawings to life could be connected, which could mean he is a lot more powerful than is previously shown in the Tim Burton success Wednesday. Wednesday can go into her visions and interact with the people in them, so it would not be surprising that Xavier's visions similarly connect to his drawings.

Why The Hyde Was Able To Attack Xavier Through His Paintings On Wednesday

Percy Hynes White; The Hyde; Netflix; Addams

It is never fully addressed on Wednesday how the Hyde was able to attack Xavier from his drawing. It is shown earlier that when Xavier brought the spider to life, he also controlled its movements. However, Xavier's visions were of a real being, and drawing the Hyde could have meant the mixture of art and real life allowed the Hyde in the painting to have its own control. Plus, the Hyde, whose identity was revealed at the end of Wednesday, is a very powerful being which could have meant it was able to break Xavier's control over it. Xavier could have tried his powers on the drawing of the Hyde, and it would have acted like a Hyde does, which caused it to attack Xavier.

Also, all of Xavier's paintings could have their own minds once Xavier brings them to life. For example, before Wednesday squashes Xavier's drawing of a spider, it acts exactly as a spider would. This might not be because Xavier is controlling it but because it has no other reason to act any other way, and Xavier's power is just to hold it in its new life form. It makes sense then that the painting of the Hyde, once brought to life, would attack Xavier, and no further damage was done because Xavier stopped his magic. Inherited from Xavier's father, who hopefully is introduced in season 2, Xavier's powers in Wednesday are elusive, but with his drawings and psychic abilities, it seems he is much more powerful than what season 1 showed.
