The latest trailer for Tim Burton's Wednesday has finally revealed the actor playing the iconic Uncle Fester in the latest reboot of The Addams Family, alongside Christina Ricci's character. Created by Tim Burton, Miles Millar, and Alfred Gough, Wednesday will focus on its titular character, played by Jenna Ortega, as she is sent off to the supernatural-skewing high school, Nevermore Academy. Luis Guzmán, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Isaac Ordonez are rounding up the lead cast as Gomez, Morticia, and Pugsley Addams respectively, while Riki Lindhome, Gwendoline Christie, and Percy Hynes White will also be a part of the supporting cast.

One of Ricci's best-known roles as a child actor was her portrayal of Wednesday Addams in Barry Sonnenfeld's 1991 version of The Addams Family, in which Christopher Lloyd played Uncle Fester. They both reprised their roles in 1993 for the sequel, Addams Family Values, and while Ricci was announced as part of Wednesday's cast earlier this year, no details were shared for her character, nor who would be playing Uncle Fester. At the time, all that was known on her character was that it would be a new addition to the world of The Addams Family, and not an older version of Wednesday.

Now, with just over a month remaining until its premiere, Netflix has released a new Wednesday trailer, offering the first proper look at Ricci's new character, as well as revealing Fred Armisen starring as Uncle Fester. The video also shows teases of the supernatural threats the titular Addams Family teenager will face during her time at Nevermore Academy. Check out the exciting trailer below:

Wednesday Looks To Be A True Addams Family Love Letter

Wednesday smiling

Aside from a welcome appearance from Ricci, Wednesday looks to be a terrific love letter to what made previous iterations of The Addams Family so special. Not only is Tim Burton's aesthetic in line with the world of The Addams Family, but it also contains the same charm as Barry Sonnenfeld's live-action adaptations of the television show it's based on. Jenna Ortega looks to be a great Wednesday Addams, capturing previous iterations of the character while making this new take on the protagonist her own.

From the looks of the trailer, it seems Wednesday will be a hit for Tim Burton. The director's last project, the 2019 live-action remake of Dumbo, was met with poor reception from critics and audiences alike, and while Burton did not direct every episode of the series, his imprint seems to be embedded into each and every frame, which will be a welcome return from one of gothic cinema's greatest minds. Only time will tell if critics and audiences agree when Wednesday premieres on Netflix on November 23.
