Summary

  • Pubert Addams is unlikely to appear in Netflix's Wednesday due to the focus on new characters and the storyline at Nevermore Academy.
  • Familiar characters like Thing support Wednesday, but most of the main cast were created for the show, providing a fresh take.
  • While Pubert Addams may not physically appear, he could still be mentioned to add to the chilling family history in Wednesday season 2.

The youngest Addams family member, Pubert Addams, is unlikely to ever appear in Netflix’s Wednesday. Several characters have yet to make an appearance in Wednesday, including Cousin Itt and Grandmama. Since Wednesday follows Wednesday Addams’s life at Nevermore Academy, new characters are necessary instead of relying solely on the existing Addams family members from previous movies and series.

Watch on Netflix

Wednesday season 2 faces new challenges to perform as well as season 1. Familiar characters, like Thing, provide immense support for Wednesday as she navigates high school life, but most of the main cast of season 1 were created for the show, giving fresh faces and a fresh take on the character. Though Gomez, Morticia, and Pugsley have supporting roles, there’s one more Addams that is noticeably left out and unlikely to ever appear alongside Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday: Pubert Addams.

Following the climactic season 1 finale of Tim Burton's Wednesday, here's everything we know about season 2 of Netflix's Addams Family show.

Pubert Addams Is A Major Addams Family Character Missing From Wednesday

Pubert Addams plays a major role in The Addams Family Values, but is another familiar character missing from Wednesday. His birth in The Addams Family Values introduces new challenges for the Addams family. Wednesday and Pugsley worry he is their replacement and regularly try to murder him. Pubert is lucky enough to escape their attempts, including stopping a guillotine. Pubert is the hero of The Addams Family Values as he manages to electrocute Debbie while she is attempting to kill the family. Wednesday season 2 should dive deeper into horror, and the youngest Addams would be a good addition.

Pubert is briefly mentioned in Addams Family Reunion but has no major role and is given a darker story instead. Wednesday claims she and Pugsley had a younger brother, but Pugsley ate him. Though Addams Family Reunion and The Addams Family Values have entirely different casts, this claim of a younger brother links the stories to show that perhaps Wednesday and Pugsley succeeded in getting rid of their baby brother. Pubert’s birth forces Wednesday and Pugsley to work together instead of being at odds.

Why Wednesday Probably Won't Include Pubert Addams

Pubert Addams likely won’t physically appear in Wednesday season 2 if Wednesday’s age is any indication. Regularly depicted as older than Pugsley, Wednesday’s age in The Addams Family movies varies. Wednesday celebrates Wednesday’s sixteenth birthday in “Quid Pro Woe.” Pugsley is younger and though his exact age is unclear, “Wednesday’s Child is Full of Woe” shows him stuffed into a locker at the high school. Thus, Puglsey is likely a young teenager on Wednesday. While it’s possible, it’s highly unlikely Gomez and Morticia will bear more children while parenting two high schoolers.

Though Pubert Addams is unlikely to physically appear in Wednesday season 2, it is still possible he could be mentioned as another chilling story in the family’s history similar to Addams Family Reunion. The Addams family isn’t regularly featured in the Netflix series, but Wednesday season 2 can fix this “mistake” to feature the family dynamics and reveal any possible hints at Pubert. Since Pubert Addams is not included in the original comic strip or TV series, Wednesday probably won’t include the youngest Addams.
