We Bare Bears is a popular animated Cartoon Network show that follows three bears; Grizz, Panda, and Ice Bear, in their daily lives. The trio find friends wherever they go and are thrown into various adventures in each episode. The show is different than anything else on the air and is an obvious fan-favorite.

We Bare Bears is a lovely and calming show that most enjoy and would say is one of Cartoon Network's best shows, but there are also some aspects of the show that are overrated.

Best Show: Found Family

we bare bears

Grizz, Panda, and Ice Bear are a found family that continues to make friends wherever they go on their adventures.

The three bears have been family since they found each other living on the streets when they were baby bears and have kept a tight-knit family ever since. Their family is at the heart of the show and a strong and lovely plot point in almost every episode.

Overrated: Baby Bears

At first, the baby bear episodes that see Grizz, Panda, and Ice Bear on adventures in their childhood were interesting at first but these episodes seem to show up more frequently as the show has been on the air making them have less significance.

It's fun seeing the baby bears and there are great episodes featuring them, but it would be stronger if there weren't so many.

Best Show: Calming Vibes

Almost every episode of We Bare Bears has a calming vibe attached to it that makes the show an enjoyable experience. Some episodes hardly have any dialogue and accomplish telling a whole story without words and most of the episodes have calming music in the background.

The show maintains a calm aesthetic while also having tense moments in episodes and have different styles of animation and this balance in the show is impressive.

Overrated: The Personalities Of The Bears

we bare bears

Each bear has a well-defined personality, but at times it seems like their personalities are a little one-note. There are great storylines surrounding the bears, but their one-note personalities sometimes weaken the plot. Grizz needs to be the leader, Panda is obsessed with social media, and Ice Bear is stoic and quiet.

There's more to them, and it's true that some lovable characters are best known for a few personality traits, but sometimes it seems like their actions are driven by these simplistic personality traits.

Best Show: Kind And Adorable

We Bare Bears

We Bare Bears is an objectively and unapologetically positive, kind, and adorable show, which is something that isn't seen very often. The show leans into its themes and makes it one of the best-animated shows on the air right now.

The series consistently has a good and kind message while dealing with relatable emotional issues that each of the bears, or their friends, go through and everyone pitches in to help the person during going through a rough time.

Overrated: Stand Alone Episodes

We Bare Bears usually has stand-alone episodes and the show doesn't follow a common plot throughout its seasons. Each episode is a short story that can be watched in any order, and although this is a good set up for the short animated show, it also sometimes leaves a lot to be desired.

Having a bit more of an overarching plot throughout the series could make the show even better.

Best Show: Different Styles Of Animation

We Bare Bears doesn't have one particular type of animation and instead tries something a little different in almost every episode of the series. The show pays homage to different styles of animation and different movies as well especially the episodes that focus on Ice Bear's character.

The show's approach and care to paying appropriate homage to animation and movies is both impressive and fun to watch.

Overrated: Focus On Technology

we bare bears

We Bare Bears has a surprising amount of focus on technology in the world the bears live in. It's most likely because Panda is obsessed with everything tech, especially social media, so the show does tend to have a focus on new types of tech.

We Bare Bears has created such a calming aesthetic, but sometimes the constant technology takes the viewer out of their calm vibe.

Best Show: Creative Storylines

We Bare Bears hasn't been on the air for long compared to other long-running animated shows and they've consistently come up with new and original ideas for each episode. There's a lot of heart and love with each episode but also an engaging and original storyline.

The creativity of the show is impressive and a delight to see what new adventure the bears get into each week and which types of characters they become friends with.

Overrated: Shorter Episodes

we bare bears

We Bare Bears has very short episodes and it does seem to work well with its stand-alone episodes, but having a bit longer episodes and an overarching plot could help make the show even better.

We Bare Bears movie was released in 2020 that was a little over an hour-long and a good contrast to the typical shorter episode.
