Warner Bros. MultiVersus is set to feature characters from the DC Universe like Batman, Superman and Harley Quinn, but there are other heroes and villains that could be joining them. Featuring classics like Bugs Bunny and Tom and Jerry, modern favorites like Steven Universe and even a shocking appearance by Arya Stark, MultiVersus is building up to have one of the most varied rosters yet for a fighting game. By the time the full cast is revealed, there will almost definitely be a character for everyone to enjoy, no matter what their taste.

With such a potentially huge crossover such as this, it is only natural that speculation regarding the roster has spanned multiple areas, with some weirder WB characters in contention to join MultiVersus. One of the best pools to find new playable characters would be DC Comics. The comics publisher has already contributed admirably to the roster with Batman, Superman, Harley, and Wonder Woman, but it has such a rich backlog of characters that it would be a shame if MultiVersus didn't pull anyone else for a place in the game. Even just one more roster spot for a DC character would be hotly debated due to the DC Universe's incredibly rich history and the number of fan-favorite characters.

There are plenty of DC heroes and villains who would fit right into the wacky world of Smash-style combat that MultiVersus is slowly filling out. Any of them would make fantastic additions in their own ways, from old favorites to rising stars. WB's new crossover fighting game could take inspiration from any corner of the DC Universe, but there are a couple that may lend themselves best to the game's inane direction.

Mark Hamill's Joker Should Join MultiVersus

The Joker from Batman: The Animated Series

This should be an obvious choice, as the Joker is Batman's most iconic enemy, as well as one of the most iconic villains in the history of comics. The Clown Prince of Crime is no stranger to fighting games, having not only starred in the Injustice series but also making a guest appearance in Mortal Kombat 11, a setting perfectly suited to this sadistic clown. With Batman already confirmed for MultiVersus, few would complain about seeing his archenemy following him onto the roster, especially if he were to be voiced by Mark Hamill, who first portrayed the character in the seminal Batman: The Animated Series and reprised the role in Rocksteady's Batman: Arkham Games.

Joker's fighting style would probably be a lot like him: unpredictable. With a variety of gadgets, slapstick violence, and pure cruelty at his command, Joker has options for any kind of fight. Joker has worlds of potential to be a wild and fun fighter, and true to form, any match with him would be a real performance.

MultiVersus is currently lacking villains in its roster, and Joker is one of the worst around. He may well be the resident bad guy of the game. Joker definitely has a real chance to get on the roster purely through name recognition and popularity alone. No Batman villain is more noteworthy or iconic, and with an assortment of clown-based weapons at his disposal - as well as having previously featured as a guest character in other fighting games - he could work perfectly in the game's Smash Bros.-style mayhem.

MultiVersus Should Include Static

Static on his flying disc in Static Shock

Originally created in 1993 by Dwayne McDuffie, Denys Cowan, Michael Davis and Derek T. Dingle, Static received a huge injection of popularity with the debut of the Static Shock animated series, which still stands among the best cartoons that DC has produced. Static himself could be likened to DC's equivalent of Peter Parker, being a wisecracking young hero trying to balance fighting crime and everyday life as high schooler Virgil Hawkins. Static is extremely relatable, and that is one of the things that makes him so easily likable. At the same time, his electric powers give him a very diverse set of abilities. Plus, with Static now being back in DC Comics, the time for him to appear in a video game may have arrived.

Static has shown several skills aside from simple electric attacks, including manipulating metal with magnetism and manipulating electricity in the air to fly. These abilities could be the base for a very useful fighting style in MultiVersus. Static would likely be a ranged fighter, since he rarely engages in combat up close. However, he has all the makings of an excellent zoner, controlling the fight without the opponent ever landing a punch.

Static is fun, entertaining, and flashy, which are perfect ingredients for a fighting game character. With his charisma and power, Static would fit perfectly into MultiVersus' character roster. Considering his strong connection to animation as well, it may just be the perfect place for him to make his gaming debut.

Batman Beyond's Inque Could Be A Unique MultiVersus Villain

Inque's blob form in Batman Beyond

Most of Batman Beyond's villains were newcomers, and Inque is no exception. However, it took very little time for her to emerge as one of the most powerful and popular of Terry and Bruce's foes. A spy, saboteur, and assassin, Inque is a woman who wears many hats. Despite her deceitfulness, Inque manages to be very difficult to dislike, with her charming persona and professional approach to her crimes.

Inque's body is made up of a blob-like material that is extremely flexible and unbelievably tough. Her ability to transform into an arsenal of destructive forms would make her a visually stunning fighter. It's also easy to see her with the ability to fluidly dodge attacks or simply power through them, referencing the sheer unstoppable force she was in the show.

Although Inque is not as famous a name as the other characters mentioned, Batman Beyond has a huge fanbase that would be overjoyed to see her in a game, whether in MultiVersus or a Batman Beyond-style sequel to Arkham Knight. In addition, her unique and frighteningly strong power would undoubtedly make her one of the most entertaining fighters to watch in gameplay. She would be a very welcome surprise to the roster, and reintroducing her in a prominent way could only be a good thing.

Lobo's Daughter Crush Could Be A Perfect MultiVersus Hero

Crush on the cover of Crush and Lobo #5

Xiomara Rojas, better known as Crush, has only been around since 2018, but she has already made an impact. Debuting as one of the members of the Teen Titans, Crush is the illegitimate daughter of Lobo, and she inherited his absurd strength and toughness. However, although Crush is a rebel with plenty of attitude problems, she has far more of a moral compass than her father ever did. Seeing as Crush recently gained her own miniseries, a video game appearance as a playable DC hero may be in the cards for her as well.

Crush would be a straightforward brawler, using her strength and aggression to her advantage. Running up and pummeling enemies would be her bread and butter, with more or less her entire move-set being based around hitting hard and not letting the opponent escape. She also has her sentient chain Obelus who could act as an assist character, most likely for grappling moves.

As one of DC's newest heroines, Crush would be a perfect candidate for a place in the game. Exposing her to a wider audience would be a great way to promote her and her adventures, specifically her Crush & Lobo run. She could easily be a major part of DC's latest generation, and being included in MultiVersus could be exactly the push that the hard-nosed heroine deserves.

MultiVersus is still coming together, and any number of characters could be revealed next. With all of the properties that Warner Bros. has at its command, it can cast a tremendous net while searching for new roster members. If it turns out that DC does have a few more characters to offer, don't be too surprised if one of the four mentioned above makes an appearance.
