The Suicide Squad is still months away, but fans already have all kinds of wild guesses and theories. With the premiere of Zack Snyder's Justice League so fresh and the #RestoretheSnyderverse campaign still going on, eager fans continue their fight to bring Snyder's vision back into the DCEU.

The first Suicide Squad movie occurred in the same continuity as the Snyderverse, so it had several easter eggs and connections. And while it's unlikely that The Suicide Squad will have any proper tie-ins with Snyder's work, it can have them in the future, should Warner Bros. decide to keep Snyder involved in the franchise.

Peacemaker's Future Role

Peacemaker writes down notes in The Suicide Squad

In the comics, Peacemaker is a diplomat who becomes increasingly unstable in his pursuit of peace. He is never a real threat to any of the headliner superheroes, like Superman, Batman, or Wonder Woman. Instead, he serves as a minor antagonist or member of questionable organizations like the Shadow Fighters, and of course, the Suicide Squad.

Peacemaker's role in The Suicide Squad remains secretive. John Cena will also star in an HBO Max spin-off, so there are big plans for the character. He could conceivably reappear in any number of future DCEU projects, including potential Snyderverse stories.

Thinker's Future

The Thinker listening to Task Force X in The Suicide Squad

The Thinker made his debut in the Silver Age of Comic Books as an antagonist to Jay Garrick's Flash. He is a failed lawyer who becomes the brains behind the operation of several petty criminals. During his time in the villain business, he uses a "thinking cap" capable of projecting mental force.

It is unclear if Thinker will make it out alive. If he does, he could appear as an antagonist in movies like the upcoming The Flash. Thinker could also feature in any Suicide Squad sequels and can be a part of the Knightmare future.

Captain Boomerang & The Flash

Jai Courtney As Captain Boomerang in The Suicide Squad

Boomerang is one of the Flash's most recognizable villains and a founding member of the Suicide Squad. Many believe that Harkness won't come out alive of The Suicide Squad, but killing the character so soon into his cinematic journey would be a waste.

Boomerang would be a worthy inclusion in any number of storylines. As a member of the Flash's rogues gallery, he'd be a welcome addition to the upcoming film. He could also be part of a Green Lantern movie, and considering Snyder toyed with the idea of including a Lantern in ZSJL, the director clearly had plans for the space corps.

Starro The Conqueror

The trailer for The Suicide Squad seemingly revealed the movie's main antagonist, Starro the Conqueror. In the comics, Starro actually serves as the first-ever antagonist for the Justice League. The giant starfish actually comes close to defeating them on several occasions, but it never really succeeds.

Any potential sequel to ZSJL would focus on the Knightmare future, but who's to say Starro can't be a part of that? In the comics, and after being inspired by Martian Manhunter, Starro actually sacrifices itself to protect the universe from the Omega Titans. A similar fate could happen in the DCEU, and Starro could die defending Earth from Darkseid.

King Shark & Aquaman

King Shark and Aquaman explore a wreckage

In the comics, King Shark goes through a riveting journey. The son of a God, he has a ferocious appetite and little to no regard for human life. During the One Year continuity, he even acts as a caretaker for Arthur Curry. King is a mentor and protector of Curry, who's yet to assume the Aquaman mantle. In this storyline, King is smarter and more talkative than in any of his previous appearances.

James Gunn will most likely take on a more comedic with his King Shark, but the character could come back as either a friend or foe to Aquaman. In the Knightmare future, Arthur is dead, and Meera sets out to avenge him. Perhaps King can play a part in the defense or the murder of Arthur Curry.

Amanda Waller

Amanda Waller is one of DC's most consistent and ruthless characters. In the comics, Waller is somewhat of an anti-hero that leans more into the darker side. She serves as both an antagonist and occasional ally to DC's heroes, who often clash with her because of her dubious methods.

Viola Davis did a superb job with the character in the first Suicide Squad movie, and she will surely excel again in the sequel. Someone as cunning as Waller wouldn't be caught off guard by Superman's descent into cruelty. She would surely assist Batman and his Kinightmare team on their mission to stop Supes, meaning she would have a pivotal role in any ZSJL sequel.

Bloodsport's Superman Connection

One of the new additions to the team is the villain Bloodsport. Played by Idris Elba, Bloodsport goes to jail after shooting Superman with a Kryptonite bullet. He joins Task Force X to lessen his sentence and reunite with his daughter.

Idris Elba is such a good actor that fans would hate for him to A) be killed in his first appearance and B) not return in any DCEU projects, even beyond the Suicide Squad franchise. If Snyder someday returns to the DCEU, a Man of Steel sequel would be one of his top priorities. Bloodsport's shooting of Superman could make for an engaging storyline. The villain could also team up with Joe Manganiello's Deathstroke against Batman.

Harley Quinn's Ultimate Fate

Harley Quinn The Suicide Squad

One of the most shocking reveals in the Knightmare sequence was Harley Quinn's death. Batman reveals to the Joker how she died in his arms and made him promise he would kill the Clown Prince of Crime, a promise he intends to keep.

Harley's death would be a crucial moment for the DCEU. She is one of the franchise's biggest names, so her death would need to be meaningful and memorable. Harley began a journey towards anti-heroism in Birds of Prey and will most likely continue it on The Suicide Squad, moving away from the villainy she practiced with the Joker.

Joker's Future Involvement

Joker points at his own face while talking to Batman in Zack Snyder's Justice League

Joker's role in the first Suicide Squad was rather unmemorable. There is apparently a ton of cut footage featuring Jared Leto's take on the Clown Prince of Crime, but fans won't be seeing it any time soon. Thus, the Knightmare future becomes the only opportunity to see Leto's Joker again.

The idea of Joker and Batman working together to achieve a common goal is too good to pass. The Suicide Squad could give fans a hint of what Joker's up to, perhaps as an end-credits scene. It seems unlikely, but stranger things happen every day.

The Knightmare Future

Batman in the Knightmare sequence of Batman v Superman

Even though ZSJL only showed a brief scene featuring the Knightmare future, a movie or streaming show would allow him to go deeper into the apocalypse's early days. The reasons behind the future could not only include Darkseid and the anti-life equation but maybe also the presence of several aliens on Earth, mainly Superman, Martian Manhunter, and even Starro.

Tying every DCEU property into the Knightmare future could seem like an overly ambitious idea, but that's precisely Snyder's bread and butter. The director always strives for big ideas, and his Knightmare future may be his boldest ever.
