A video montage played during DC FanDome to introduce audiences to the DC multiverse may have revealed Watchmen and Constantine are included. Both were released as standalone movies during the 2000s, adapting material from DC comics for the screen. Constantine starred Keanu Reeves as the titular anti-hero, based in Los Angeles instead of the comics character's native Liverpool. Directed by Francis Lawrence, the movie struggled to find an audience at the box office but has gained a fan following in recent years.

Similarly, Zack Snyder's adaption of Watchmen was based on a classic DC graphic novel. Rather than straying from its source material, Snyder was criticized for adhering too strictly to the graphic novel, except for where it mattered, rewriting the iconic climax. However, the Watchmen movie has also been re-evaluated in recent years, thanks to the dazzling HBO show that Damon Lindelof created in 2019. Both Watchmen and Constantine take place in their own worlds, completely separate from the core DC characters like Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman.

However, at this weekend's DC FanDome, a video montage explaining the DC movie multiverse ran during the panel for Andy Muschietti's upcoming The Flash. The video included brief glimpses of scenes from both Watchmen and Constantine. While neither movie was mentioned in the voiceover, the footage and the general explanation given of the universe makes it appear as though they are part of the DC movie multiverse, just like The Joker or The Batman are. At one point, Ezra Miller, star of The Flash, says that his solo movie, which establishes the cinematic multiverse, opens up the opportunity for "characters that exist within their own bubbles" to "collide."

While it's not made explicit, the implication is that properties like Watchmen and Constantine do exist in the DC multiverse, meaning there is potential for them to cross over in the future. While the prospect of a Justice League vs. Watchmen movie doesn't sound too enticing, and likely wouldn't happen, it does leave the door open for a character such as Constantine to be introduced in the DCEU.

With a new Constantine movie in the works from JJ Abrams, the likelihood is high that whoever ends up playing the character, whether it's Keanu Reeves reprising his role or a new actor, will appear alongside at least one of the current members of the Justice League. As for Watchmen, that property is likely to remain on TV for now, unless the head honchos at DC can find a way to make a prequel movie work on the big screen.
