IFC Films has dropped a brand-new trailer for the forthcoming thriller feature film Watcher starring It Follows actress Maika Monroe. Helmed by Chloe Okuno (director of the popular storm drain segment from V/H/S/94), the story of Watcher revolves around an American woman named Julia, who moves to Romania with her husband after he relocates to his native country for a new job. Julia often finds herself alone and unoccupied in her new surroundings in Bucharest. As time goes on, she notices that she is constantly being watched by a neighbor with possibly sinister intentions, all the while there's a serial killer on the loose. The film also co-stars Karl Glusman as Julia's husband Francis and Burn Gorman as the titular watcher.

Now, IFC Films has released a brand-new poster along with a full-length official trailer for Watcher, putting the spotlight on Monroe as she grapples with her potentially dangerous new neighborhood. What begins as simple observation turns into an obsession as Monroe's sense of being stalked intensifies, making her spiral into a perilous quest to find the truth. Check out the trailer and poster below:

Having made her breakthrough in David Robert Mitchell's 2015 horror film, It Follows, Monroe subsequently found roles in films like 2016's Independence Day: Resurgence and 2019's indie drama Honey Boy. However, Watcher marks a return to the genre that helped kickstart her career. A collaboration with the up-and-coming filmmaker Okuno promises another strong entry into Monroe's filmography. Watcher premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year and received rave reviews, particularly for the slow-burn nature of the film and Monroe's performance. Audiences can check out Watcher when it makes its theatrical debut on June 3, followed by its VOD release on Shudder on June 21.
