The Traitors has finally made its way to the United States after finding success in Europe, and luckily for fans of the dramatic and mysterious competition that's located in the United Kingdom, they have an opportunity to follow along across the pond too. The American version of The Traitors, which made its debut in Denmark as De Verraders in 2021, will pit celebrities and non-celebrities against one another as they attempt to win up to $250,000 through a series of challenges on January 12. While the premise may sound simple, things quickly go awry as three unidentified "traitors" devise a plan to steal the money away from the rest of their competitors.

On the morning of The Traitors' premiere in the US, BBC, one of the UK's largest broadcasters, announced that they acquired the air rights to the new series just weeks after their version concluded in late December 2022. Fans of Brandi and Arie Luyendyk Jr. from The Bachelor can watch them compete on BBC One and BBC Three over the next five weeks on Friday; The Traitors will also be available as a box set on BBC iPlayer.

While the general premise of The Traitors remains the same regardless of what country it's filmed in, fans of The Traitors UK should expect to see several changes for The Traitors US. Although both versions are set in Scotland, the American contestants on The Traitors have a lot more money at stake; while the new batch of traitors will attempt to steal up to $250,000, the British rendition only offered a max of £101,050. In addition, while Big Brother winner Rachel Reilly and former chief steward Kate Chastain from Bravo's Below Deck are two public figures that will be featured, The Traitors UK did not cast any celebrities.
Although several reality shows are set to make an impact throughout 2023, The Traitors is one of the most anticipated since it was announced in late 2022.
