A behind-the-scenes look at Watch Dogs Legion's upcoming Bloodline expansion gives fans a closer look at returning protagonists Aiden Pearce and Wrench. The open-world action title from Ubisoft, which launched in October 2020, is the third installment in the sci-fi hacker trilogy. Legion's unique gameplay structure completely forgoes a main playable character, instead allowing players to recruit and control nearly any inhabitant of the game's near-future London.

Shortly after the release of Watch Dogs Legion last year, a roadmap of post-launch downloadable content was announced. This roadmap includes a story expansion, Bloodline, which is said to bring back original Watch Dogs protagonist Aiden Pearce for an entirely new story. Pearce will also be joined by Wrench, a non-playable supporting character from Watch Dogs 2, who will also be playable for the first time in the franchise. More information about Watch Dogs Legion Bloodline was revealed at June's Ubisoft Forward event, with a new trailer providing more information about the expansion's story. Bloodline will reportedly see Aiden Pearce and Wrench competing to steal a device capable of controlling an army of robot soldiers, with the life of Pearce's nephew Jackson hanging in the balance.

A behind-the-scenes trailer for Watch Dogs Legion Bloodline, posted by Ubisoft North America, gives more details about the return of Aiden Pearce and Wrench. The video features actor Shawn Baichoo, who plays Wrench, discussing the expansion alongside Aiden Pearce actor Noam Jenkins. Baichoo discusses the joy of returning as Wrench after a positive experience making Watch Dogs 2 and explains the different set of circumstances that the character finds himself in. Jenkins, meanwhile, explains that Aiden Pearce has aged considerably since the first installment and enjoys the dynamic of playing an aging hero. The two actors also discuss the similarities and differences between their respective characters.

While Bloodline is set to be the game's big story expansion, there is a ton of additional content coming to Watch Dogs Legion in the near future. August will see the release of two competitive multiplayer modes, Invasion and Extraction, which were originally slated for release back in May. These PVP modes will be released alongside an event that acts as an official crossover into Ubisoft's other massive open-world franchise, Assassin's Creed. This crossover event will feature new missions, a new world event, and a new playable Assassin named Darcy.

Watch Dogs Legion is a massive game, with its recruitment mechanic allowing players to become nearly any non-playable character in the game's open world. Watch Dogs Bloodline will add two more characters to that potentially enormous roster, and these particular characters are already important staples of the franchise. Through the behind-the-scenes trailer, Shawn Baichoo and Noam Jenkins tease that these familiar Watch Dogs heroes have grown and changed since players last met them.
