The existence of Watch Dogs 3 has been confirmed by an Amazon leak just ahead of E3, and the massive retailer's mistake has divulged the game's title and key details. After two excursions through major US cities, it appears that the next game in the Watch Dogs franchise will be set on the other side of the Atlantic.

Considering the series' relative success and Ubisoft's near-compulsion to continually iterate upon its IP, a return to the tech savvy universe of Watch Dogs has been speculated on since Watch Dogs 2's release. Last April, a customer service bot on Ubisoft's website seems to have announced the game's ongoing development when asked if there would be a Watch Dogs 3, and a subtle trail of documents and hints from the publisher have pointed toward the same answer. Now, Watch Dogs 3 seems all but certain.

Thanks to the watchful eye of reliable leak-hawk Wario64 on Twitter, an Amazon UK listing leaked that the next Watch Dogs is coming and that its title will be Watch Dogs Legion. Giving players their first glimpse into what the third franchise entry will be about ahead of any official announcements, the product description reads:

Watch_Dogs Legion is set in a near-future, dystopian version of London. It's a post-Brexit world in which society, politics and technology have changed and altered London's fortunes. London is one of the most iconic cities in the world and has had a massive influence on all of Western Culture for centuries. London makes total sense for WD, as the city has one of the highest surveillance levels in the world making this the perfect playground.

Watch Dogs 2

True to the series' focus on mass surveillance and social unrest, a near-future, post-Brexit London is perfectly on-brand for Watch Dogs. Not only has Ubisoft proven themselves adept at recreating cities as huge and beautiful as London two times over with its previous takes on Chicago and San Francisco, but governmental surveillance and (more recently) general incompetence have blossomed into hot-button issues in the UK over the past few years, and there's no other British city more ripe for Watch Dogs Legion's style of technological rebellion than the Old Smoke.

It'll definitely be interesting and, for British players, a bit depressing to explore the worst-case scenario a few years after a no-deal Brexit as imagined by Ubisoft. Luckily, series fans likely won't have to wait long, as this leak comes just before Ubisoft's E3 conference, scheduled for June 10. The prospect of exploring a digital London dystopia sounds promising on paper, but seeing is believing when it comes to online leaks of any repute.
