The mysterious red doors in Call of Duty: Warzone continues to baffle fans, with one player recently encountering what they consider to be the "most useless" door in the game thus far. Activision’s free-to-play battle royale continues to remain popular, with the game reaching a record 100 million players in April this year. As a result of its popularity, the game receives consistent updates from developer Raven Software, providing new content that often ties into other titles in the Call of Duty franchise.

Warzone recently received its midseason update with Season 4 Reloaded, providing players with an influx of new content, including a new Operator hailing from Call of Duty: Black Ops, Grigori Weaver. While some fans have considered Season 4’s offerings to be lackluster in comparison to previous seasons, Raven Software has chosen to focus on game balance with the Reloaded patch. As a result, Warzone’s midseason update provides the biggest weapon changes to the battle royale since release, with the aim to raise the game’s average time-to-kill time for players.

Reddit user madfortune recently posted a video of their confusing encounter with a red door in Warzone, stating that they believed it may have been "the most useless red door" in the game. Upon landing on top of a building, the Redditor waited by the red door for their teammate to follow but was ambushed by an opponent. After exchanging some shots with the enemy, madfortune decided to take their chances with the mysterious door, quickly hopping through as the enemy moved out of their line of sight. After a short cutscene, the Redditor discovered that what was waiting on the other side was not a room filled with valuable loot, but the red door had instead transported them high above the skies over Verdansk Airport.

With the introduction of Warzone’s Season 4, mysterious red doors appeared all over Verdansk, often teleporting players to a room filled with various high-level loot, but as players like misfortune have discovered, this was not always the case. Many Redditors were eager to share that they also had a similar experience with the crimson doors, which found them being dropped off for an impromptu parachuting session at various points over Verdansk. Other Warzone fans shared different but equally chaotic experiences, some were teleported into rooms where an enemy squad was waiting, while others encountered a seemingly innocent loot crate that was actually booby-trapped with gas.

It seems red door encounters in Warzone are truly a gamble for players, although sometimes the rewards are great, it can also be high risk in the case of Redditor madfortune's encounter. For players looking to take their chances with the mysterious doors, not only will they have to grapple with potentially being unceremoniously dropped mid-air over Verdansk, but the red doors can also cause a serious glitch to occur. One thing is for certain though, players are unlikely to find themselves having a dull moment going through the crimson doorways in Warzone's Season 4.
