Pacific update integrated all of Call of Duty: Vanguard's weapons into Warzone, adding 3 new sniper rifles and a new map to the battle royale. The new map, Caldera, is about the same size as Verdansk but plays much differently. Caldera has a lot more buildings, rocks, trees, and hills to maneuver around which really cuts engagement ranges down to a much shorter distance than Verdansk. Sniper rifles are still very viable on Caldera, just a bit harder to use due to the ranges combat is usually fought in on the map. The Pacific update also added a new game mode that only includes weapons and attachments from Call of Duty: Vanguard in order to control the chaos that 3 different Call of Duty games have on Warzones meta.
While players will be happy to be using totally different guns in Warzone's Pacific Caldera, like the Automation, the sniper rifle meta doesn't look much different than it has for the past few months. The Kar98k from Modern Warfare (2019) still reigns supreme in the classic battle royale game mode in Warzone, however, Call of Duty: Vanguard has its own version of the Kar98k, and it is the best sniper by far in Warzone's Pacific game mode. That may sound disappointing for those excited to actually have some variety in their Warzone sniping experience, but luckily, the weapon does perform much differently than its Modern Warfare counterpart, for better and for worse.
A Kar98k can be included in almost all of the best loadouts for Warzone Pacific Caldera along with anyone's preferred primary weapon. Vanguard's version of the weapon is a bit slower in its base form with a slow scope in time and bullet velocity, making the bullet drop from the weapon much heavier than the Modern Warfare version. Vanguard's other sniper, the 3 line rifle, makes up for the Kar98's weakness at range with a higher bullet velocity and range effectiveness but is a much slower sniper rifle overall.

Easily the best sniper rifle in Warzone Pacific Caldera, the Kar98k continues to uphold its reputation as the best sniper rifle in Warzone. Paired with an SMG like the G43, the Kar98k is easily the best option for sniping in Caldera's close to medium range engagements.

The 3-Line rifle does a few things better than the Kar98k, but its pros don't outweigh its cons. A quick scope in time is essential in Warzone, and although the 3 Line Rifle hits harder than the Kar98k, its scope in time is still less than the Kar98k. Vanguard's 3rd sniper rifle, the Type-99, is a slightly worse version of the Kar98k, which doesn't make it more useful than either of the other snipers in the game. The Kar98k reigns supreme in both Pacific Caldera and the classic battle royale game modes, so players should rank theirs up as soon as possible.
