Major changes arrived in Call of Duty: Warzone with the start of the Pacific Caldera update, including which weapons are considered the best. It's common for Call of Duty titles to have their meta-game constantly fluctuate through updates. While a weapon might have worked well in one season may be considered completely useless in the next. Finding the best weapons at the start of the match can make all the difference in the world. As new weapons were introduced in this update, a handful of shown to be better than the rest.

The best part about Warzone is that the different weapon variety types allow for different gameplay styles. Players who enjoy close-up combat will benefit from having the best Assault Rifles or SMGs. On the other hand, players who enjoy long-range combat will gravitate towards Sniper Rifles. Since this is the battle royale, weapons on the map will spawn in different locations with every match. Although, Warzone allows players to bring in their custom loadout by purchasing them from a Buy Station or casually finding them falling from the sky.

The best guns in Warzone depend on the player's gameplay style. Weapons like the MG42 benefit from having the best loadout since it will increase the weapon's power and accuracy. It's important to mention that no matter the weapon, the metagame continues to evolve. It's common for new patches to release, giving older weapons balance changes. These are considered the best current weapons to use in Warzone during Pacific season 1.

The Best Guns in Warzone Pacific Caldera

  • The Best Assault Rifle: The Automaton works best due to its recoil control. It makes it easier to aim-down-to-sight and take down enemies without missing shots. Incredibly helpful during tight situations. It's unlocked after reaching level 8.
  • The Best SMG: The MP-40 is a classic weapon that still works well in this season. Since the weapon is so light, players are able to run around faster without slowing down. Since SMGs work best in close-quarters, combining this with the Amped perk will help players reload faster and switch weapons. This weapon is great for players who don't like a lot of lag time between swapping guns.
  • The Best Sniper Rifle: KAR98K remains one of the best Sniper Rifles in the game. It reduced aim down sight time, which makes it great for taking out enemies with quick scopes. The KAR98K works best in both long-range and medium-range combat situations. Combine this with s pistol or the MP-40 to cover all options.

Players will likely choose one of these three options if they wish to win. Shotguns do work well for taking out enemies in close-range, but due to the openness of the battle royale map, there are too many situations where a Shotgun is a disadvantage. Use either a Sniper Rifle, Assault Rifle, or SMG when building a custom loadout. After selecting one, use it as often as possible to level it up and unlock all of its attachments. The Blunder mode works for quickly earning XP and leveling up since players can respawn after they die, unlike the main battle royale.
