Yet another Call of Duty: Warzone glitch has surfaced, this time impacting the gulag showdown. The glitch is actually an exploit, which allows players to interfere in gulag fights. This is just the latest instance of frustration for Warzone players, who have frequently voiced their displeasure at the game's technical state.
Warzone is one of the most popular battle royales in gaming but is perhaps better known for its glitch issues and the prevalence of hackers in the game. Hackers will often use exploits to gain an advantage over other players. The fact that Warzone is a cross-platform game gives PC players an advantage over the console players they face in this regard since they might be able to run exploit programs while playing. Recently, one Warzone player secured a victory just by shooting the ground. Unfortunately, this is hardly an isolated instance of cheating.
The latest Warzone glitch, shown by Youtuber NTrippy (via GamesRadar) demonstrates how cheaters can exploit a new glitch to enter the Warzone gulag early in queue. But doing so won't just let cheaters get into the gulag quicker, it also grants them invincibility. It seems that, since the exploiting player isn't officially supposed to be in the gulag, the opponent can't attack them until their official turn in the queue is up. Unfortunately, cheaters using this exploit can kill the other players by punching them (since they don't seem to spawn in with weapons). NTrippy is quick to clarify that even execution moves will not kill the cheater.
Activision has already taken some active steps to curb abuse of this glitch, threatening to punish players that abuse the exploit and channels that advertise it. Unfortunately, this is further evidence for players frustrated with the glitchy, hacker-filled state of Warzone. Cheaters have become so ubiquitous in the game that, recently, a lobby full of players watched and applauded a player who was able to get the better of a hacker. Of course, the exploit that NTrippy showed off is an exploit of a glitch, of which there are many in Warzone.
For now, it is a positive step that Activision seems to be taking some steps to curb the use of this exploit. The fact that it was so easily discovered, though, is par for the course of Warzone. Streamers will often discuss their use of Warzone cheats openly, even while streaming. Others have reduced their playtime due to the frustration of encountering these cheaters. For those players simply looking to enjoy a game or two without hackers, they'll have to hope that Activision prevents exploits like this.
