Call of Duty: Vanguard is now giving customers who have preordered the upcoming game a new Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops Cold War operator, Arthur Kingsley. Alongside Call of Duty: Vanguard's release date announcement, it was revealed a World War II-era operator for both Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Warzone would be a pre-order bonus for the 2021 game, but the operator was originally planned to release at a later date..

One of the other Call of Duty: Vanguard pre-order bonuses was access to the game’s recently concluded open beta, which was held earlier in September. While Call of Duty beta sessions are typically held from from Friday to Monday, the Vanguard beta was extended to last for an additional two days. With only a little over a month left before launch and with many, many glitches spotted during the beta's initial days, developer Sledgehammer Games may have wanted to collect further player data and reports the game’s release in November.

A new Call of Duty blog post announced that those who pre-order or have already pre-ordered any Call of Duty: Vanguard digital edition can now play as operator Arthur Kingsley in Warzone and Black Ops Cold War. The version of Kingsley in the sister games will be different from the one who stars in Vanguard, but that version will also be available in Warzone sometime after Vanguard’s release. This possibly means the pre-order version of Arthur Kingsley will be the only one playable in Black Ops Cold War. There are no early deadlines for getting the pre-order bonus, so players who want to add Kingsley to their operator roster in Warzone and Black Ops Cold War can pre-order Call of Duty: Vanguard up until its November 5 launch.

Some of the other bonuses players will be able to claim when they pre-order Call of Duty: Vanguard include the Night Raid, an Ultra-rarity Mastercraft SMG that evolves with play. The first evolution of the warplane-inspired Call of Duty: Vanguard weapon blueprint was made available when pre-orders first opened. With the latest announcement, the Night Raid has been changed to include new visual effects like jet engines and an air slipstream running across the weapon. The third phase of the unique weapon’s changes has been announced for October.

This isn’t the first time Activision has released two different versions of a character, with one only available as a pre-order bonus. It previously did the same with Frank Woods in Black Ops Cold WarModern Warfare, and Warzone. It also did something similar when two versions of Captain Price were released, one for Black Ops Cold War and the other for Modern Warfare and Warzone.
