Editor’s Note: A lawsuit has been filed against Call of Duty publisher Activision Blizzard by the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing, which alleges the company has engaged in abuse, discrimination, and retaliation against its female employees. Activision Blizzard has denied the allegations. The full details of the Activision Blizzard lawsuit (content warning: rape, suicide, abuse, harassment) are being updated as new information becomes available.

The previously leaked Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops Cold War Scream and Donnie Darko skins are real and coming in this year's The Haunting event. The Ghost Face cosmetic was leaked in October, and Raven Software later confirmed the Call of Duty Scream skin shortly after. Raven also confirmed the in-game scares would begin on October 19. At the time, rumors had also spread about a Donnie Darko skin also dropping in during The Haunting 2021, but that leak wasn't verified by the developer. Since then, things have been fairly quiet regarding this year’s Halloween-themed celebration in Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops Cold War.

Previously, The Haunting event brought new cosmetics and game modes to Call of Duty: Warzone. During the battle royale’s inaugural Halloween event, zombified players were resurrected in Warzone's Zombie Royale LTM. The zombified players received supernatural abilities, adding more danger to the tense battle royale. Raven Software also dropped the limited-time mode BR Trick-Or-Trios, as well as horror-inspired cosmetics from Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Saw and alternate points of interest added to Verdansk. It seems Warzone and Black Ops Cold War's developers are once again pulling out all the stops again for this year’s event.

According to Call of Duty, both the Scream and Donnie Darko skins are real and will each be available during Warzone and Black Ops Cold War's The Haunting event, which runs from October 19 to November 2. The Limited-Time SCREAM Operator Bundle will drop on October 19, letting both Warzone and Cold War players cosplay as Ghostface ahead of the character’s theatrical return in January, while the Donnie Darko Limited-Time Bundle will drop on October 24, bringing Frank the Rabbit into the world of Call of Duty. Both bundles include the designated skin and an additional Finishing Move inspired by the movies, as well as other Epic-Rarity items.

Alongside the movie-inspired cosmetics, Raven Software confirmed Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops Cold War’s The Haunting event will bring three additional Operator skins across three Bundles, including the Necro Queen, Disciple of Mayhem, and Lumens skins available during Halloween week. The Haunting will also summon a new game mode for Call of Duty: Warzone - the likely terrifying Ghosts of Verdansk mode. Black Ops Cold War is receiving its fair share of add-ons, too, including the Nuketown Halloween map and three game modes, including Infected, Scream Deathmatch, and Nuketown Halloween Prop Hunt.

Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops Cold War The Haunting event

2021's The Haunting event will transform Call of Duty on October 19, and both Warzone and Black Ops Cold War will receive additional skins, cosmetics, and features throughout the Halloween celebration. The event is only a limited time, however, and officially ends on November 2. To celebrate, players need to log into either game sometime this month.

Raven Software has gone all-out for Warzone’s second Halloween celebration. Both the battle royale and its counterpart, Black Ops Cold War, will receive major additions that could give unsuspecting players quite a scare.
