In a hilarious video, players in Activision’s Call of Duty: Warzone have solved the question of what calling in over 100 Loadout Drops at once would look like. Since its release in March 2020, the free-to-play battle royale has had its fair share of silly moments and incredible plays, with one player recently sharing a clip of their rooftop sniper duel which ended in a perfectly timed Warzone tie.
Warzone entered Season 3 in late April with a Nuke Event which saw its Verdansk map go back in time to 1984, its new theme tying it in with Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. The franchise continued its 80’s theme in a recent mid-season update for Cold War, Warzone and Call of Duty: Mobile. The 80’s Action Heroes event introduces limited time modes, the Nakatomi Plaza from Die Hard as an area, and two new operator bundles featuring the legendary John Rambo and John McClane.
In their latest YouTube video busting myths in Warzone, the DefendTheHouse team decided to find out what would happen if players decided to call in over 100 Loadout Drops on the same spot. While Warzone allowed the 100+ drops, chaos was unleashed as Loadout crates rained from the sky, and the ensuing pile of drops began to glitch in and out of view continuously as the game struggled to display the barrage of crates and players around the area. It also seemed that DefendTheHouse’s game was having difficulty handling the amount of Warzone players congregating in one area, with the players around them all turning into hilariously low detail characters that was reminiscent of PlayStation 1 graphics.
Once all 100+ Loadout crates had landed, DefendTheHouse quickly gave the green light for players to fight, and all hell broke loose, with one player immediately calling for a Precision Air Strike, and many others crashing their vehicles into the crate pile. Considering the amount of crates summoned, it is surprising that the Loadout drops did not kill any players crowded around the area as it landed; although it’s a lesser known occurrence in Warzone, landing crates have been known to kill unsuspecting players.
A year on since its release, Warzone has brought in over 100 million players, and its incredible success is undoubtedly part of the reason it has continued to receive consistent content updates. DefendTheHouse’s video shows that Warzone players are more than capable of making their own fun, and although an unexpected consequence, provided fans with a hilarious glimpse of what operators would look like with PlayStation 1 like graphics.
