Ava is Warrior Nun's main character. Throughout the first season, she transforms from a voiceless orphan to a supernatural warrior. The journey was very difficult, and it didn't always make a lot of sense. At first, the pacing of the show was really slow, but the speed picked up in the second half of the season. Many conflicts and personal developments were only brushed over, and the season finale similarly provided no sense of closure, but there are many reasons to watch this action-packed TV show, regardless.

Ava is smart, funny, albeit a little bit ignorant. Initially torn between personal freedom and serving the OCS, she often came across as inconsistent and chaotic. There are several things that don't make sense about her life and her personality. Hopefully, season two will be more logical.

Staying At A Spanish Orphanage

Considering Ava's accent, she is definitely American. Her parents died in a car crash while vacationing in Spain, so Ava was given a new home in a Catholic orphanage. If that were to happen in real life, Ava would be brought back home. Did no one miss her? Did her parents have no friends or other family? Growing up in a Spanish orphanage simply makes no sense.

Having A Crazy Night Out Straight Away

Warrior Nun Chanel Zori and Randall

When Ava first gets the Halo, she can walk, run, and go out for the first time in her life. The world is her oyster: she goes to a bar, drinks, and ends the night when the sun is already up. Sure, she was excited and craved some fun all her life, but it makes no sense that she did it in such an unpredictable and unsafe way.

Her adventure ends when she jumps in a pool on private property, only to realize she can't swim. She's obviously smart, so it makes no sense that she would make such a stupid mistake.

Not Paying A Visit To Diego

Ava only has nice things to say about Diego, her little roommate in the orphanage. The first thing that makes no sense is that a boy and a girl share a room under a Catholic roof. Even lenient sisters would be against that, so Sister Frances should probably not let that fly.

After she is finally free, Ava doesn't go back to see Diego. When she returns, it's primarily to kill Sister Frances. By doing that, she probably saved the boy's life, but she doesn't stick around to ask him what he has been up to.

Running Away From The OCS... Several Times

Warrior Nun Ava

After the OCS finally gets its hands on Ava, she is naturally reluctant to go. She runs away because she wants to spend time with JC and enjoy her new-found freedom. However, the whole thing repeats itself once again. Ava comes back to the church and runs away yet again, even though she promised she wouldn't do it again. Her motivations for the second escape are very vague. Returning on the third occasion, she finally stays put.

Her Feelings For JC

Ava fell in love with her savior from the pool in an instant. It's understandable why she's excited, as it's the first boy her age she spends time with, and he has an interesting story to tell, as well.

She trusts him instantly. Within a day of knowing each other, she joins his friend group on a rave. Then, she also wants to run away with him and travel the world. She literally spent just two days with him.

She Masters Her Powers Within One Episode

Ava's training took one episode. Having a Halo definitely speeds up the learning process, so it makes sense she doesn't learn the way Arya from Game Of Thrones does when in training.

Ava is a girl who, up to two days prior to mastering the art of sword fighting, couldn't even walk. She has been told she will have to train a lot, but, apart from one scene with Lilith and Mother Superion, she does no training whatsoever.

Getting Freak Out By 'The Eruption'

Warrior Nun Episode 6 Mary and Ava

In "Isaiah 30:20-21," Shotgun Mary and Ava are on the run. Mary brings them to a village where everybody knows her and the OCS. Up until this point, Ava wanted to hear nothing about demons or evil, even though she has at this point already encountered them a few times.

When a little girl at a village mentions the eruption of evil that happened there a year before, Ava suddenly shows concern. A Tarask taking Lilith to Hell wasn't enough to shake her up, but a little girl vaguely mentioning eruption did the job.

Her Willingness To Help Jillian

Warrior Nun Ava and the Halo

Ava is a smart and well-read girl. She shows great interest in science when JC and his squad first crash the ArqTech party. Her initial experience at the headquarters wasn't pleasant. Yet, she decided to blindly trust Jillian and agreed to be hooked on to a mysterious tube in episode seven.

Ava is often accused of being self-centered, but she also tends to blindly trust people. By now, she could have known that the corporation might also just be using her, which turned out to be true.

She Calls Herself A Warrior Nun

Ava in Warrior Nun Season 1

By the end of the seventh episode, Ava is back at the church, this time for good. She joins Sister Mary and Beatrice in their fight against the enemies. Ava is brave, determined, and fierce. Before being silenced by an arrow, she yells: "I am a g------ warrior nun."

However, she is not a nun. She took no vows and feels reluctant to work with the Church. Yet, in this scene, she suddenly identifies as a warrior nun.

Ava And Lilith Patch Things Up Really Fast

From the moment they met, Lilith was hostile towards Ava. She was the one who was supposed to be the Halo-bearer, not some random non-believer. Lilith wants to get the Halo back and is willing to kill Ava in the process. When she catches up with Ava, a Tarask appears and she is taken to Hell.

Later on in the season, Lilith comes back. When they see each other, they are peaceful and polite to each other. Lilith repents, saying they should have been working together, and Ava thanks her for saving her life. There is no way such a dramatic conflict can be resolved in 30 seconds.
