Fans love a good crossover and MultiVersus is going to provide just that. MultiVersus is a platform fighter in the same vein as Super Smash Bros. that brings together characters from across the numerous franchises owned by Warner Bros. Discovery.

Fans are also excited for MultiVersus because it will be free-to-play and feature crossplay but there's also plenty of hype about the much-loved characters. From the DC universe to Looney Tunes to even Game Of Thrones, there are currently sixteen confirmed characters with more sure to join the roster in the future.

Updated on June 2nd, 2022 by Melody MacReady: The official release of MultiVersus is nearing closer and closer and Player First Games have been busy. With the recent cinematic trailer and the drop of the early beta, fans have gotten the chance to play the game and experience how many of these famous characters play.

Three new characters have also been confirmed thus expanding the roster even more as well as showcasing another IP from Warner Bros. They may not have been asked for or even expected but they were welcomed by the fans. From the reception of the beta, there are plenty of reasons why gamers should be excited for every single character.

Bugs Bunny

Bugs Bunny is MultiVersus' best Mage.

Of all the cartoon characters owned by Warner Bros., Bugs Bunny is easily their most famous as he's been around since the 1940s, loved by multiple generations. Bugs Bunny has been the star of shorts, movies, and even other video games. In MultiVersus, he is voiced by Eric Bauza and is a Mage/Ranged class character.

His combat features wacky attacks fitting for a Looney Tune combined with pie-throwing abilities, burrowing below ground, and riding an ACME rocket. His basic design is a nice blend of old and new, similar to the newer Looney Tunes Cartoons, but he does have alternate skins such as the famous valkyrie disguise.

Taz

Jim Cummings, who some might know as Winnie The Pooh and Tigger from Disney, is the voice of the wild and frenzied Taz AKA Tasmanian Devil from Looney Tunes. To nobody's surprise, his ability to spin into a tornado plays a big part in Taz's combat as a Bruiser class.

Taz also features the ability to turn his opponents into food. With enough build-up of a status effect, the opponent will transform into a cooked chicken for a brief period. If Taz bites them in this form, he heals from it. Taz also features fast-paced melee attacks that can damage opponents quickly.

Finn The Human

Finn is MultiVersus' best Assassin.

Continuing to show how impactful Adventure Time is, Finn The Human is on the MultiVersus roster as an Assassin class. He's equipped with his trusty backpack and his golden sword. His combat is rather straightforward with a lot of fast-based sword attacks.

He does feature meta-gameplay with each attack he blows causing coins to fall onto the stage. Finn can collect coins and use them on his backpack ability for upgrades and summons. The same backpack can also be used as a weapon. Finn is once again voiced by Jeremy Shada who voiced him across all seasons of Adventure Time.

Jake The Dog

Finn's best buddy and brother-in-arms, Jake The Dog is a shapeshifter and that already sets this character up for a lot of possibilities in combat as a Bruiser class. Jake can morph any part of himself into anything he wants, allowing for many different attack styles but also comes in handy to save him and his teammates in sticky situations.

Jake The Dog's original voice actor John DiMaggio voices the character. Jake is famous for his laidback yet uplifting attitude which leads to many funny interactions with other characters.

Tom & Jerry

Tom & Jerry wearing their Sherlock Holmes skin in the Batcave in MultiVersus

In a similar fashion as Banjo-Kazooie in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, MultiVersus combines this iconic duo into one Mage/Ranged class character. Taking into account the many destructive hijinks Tom & Jerry play on each other, their combined wits make them a force to be reckoned with in the game.

Tom can utilize Jerry in a multitude of ranged attacks, set up traps, and deliver a surprising amount of damage. Tom & Jerry are also voiced by Eric Bauza, even though the two have no spoken dialogue and simply have a series of their usual grunts and yelps.

Garnet

Fans of Steven Universe need not worry about Garnet being the only Crystal Gem on the MultiVersus roster. With more characters confirmed to be on the way, more than likely the rest of the Gems will join the fight. That said, Garnet (who is still voiced by Estelle) is still a stellar Bruiser class character.

Garnet features superhuman strength, fast melee combat, and multiple projectile attacks. It results in her being a well-rounded character that is easy to learn and fun to perfect.

Steven Universe

This titular hero of the Cartoon Network animated series is a Support class hero in MultiVersus. He can create shields using his Crystal Gem powers to provide buffs for his teammates. His combat focuses mainly on short-range attacks and defensive abilities.  With enough build-up of his attacks, Steven can also capture his opponents in a bubble.

Zach Callison, Steven's voice actor in the show and Steven Universe: The Movie, is not returning for the game. Daniel DiVenere is taking on the voice and from the dialogue displayed in the game, he seems to capture the spirit of the character that Callison delivered.

Reindog

Reindog firing a beat at Batman on the treehouse in MultiVersus

Voiced by Andrew Frankel, Reindog is an original character for MultiVersus and the last survivor of his world that was destroyed by an entity known as the Nothing and now he fights for all worlds. This hints that MultiVersus could feature story elements to explain why all of these famous Warner Bros. characters are battling.

Many will overlook Reindog but he is a powerful support class, able to save his teammate from falling off the stage and deal damage from afar. In terms of melee, Reindog's attacks are very short-range and slow but if he gets a combo going, he makes for it by delivering a large amount of damage.

Arya Stark

Arya Stark joining the fight in MultiVersus

Not only is it strange to see one of the most loved characters from Game Of Thrones in a family-friendly platform fighter but Arya Stark is still being portrayed by Maisie Williams. As an Assassin class fighter, there couldn't be a better starter fighter to represent the House of Stark.

In MultiVersus, her combat with Needle makes her one of the most fast-paced brawlers in the game. Where she may lack in damage overall, she makes up for it with how fast her attacks can build up damage. As a bonus, she has her face-stealing ability which stuns her enemy, allowing her to keep up her fast attacks or throw her dagger.

Batman

Batman is MultiVersus' best Bruiser.

It's a fight about Warner Bros.'s most iconic characters so, of course, Batman was a no-brainer. He featured as a Bruiser class character. Returning from multiple DC gaming franchises, Kevin Conroy is providing the voice of Batman yet again.

In terms of combat, Batman is an expert martial artist but MultiVersus showcases a smoke bomb ability and a grapnel gun for both combat and saving himself from falling. Batman is known for his gadgets so along with the smoke bomb is his trusty Batarang, Bat-Bomb, and cape glider.

Superman

Superman is MultiVersus' best Tank.

Since Conroy is voicing Batman, it should be no surprise to fans that George Newbern is returning as Superman's voice actor since he has been the definitive voice since the Justice League animated series.

He is a Bruiser class so his super strength is in play, but he also has heat vision, flight, and the ability to perform powerful charge attacks. Superman could have been an overpowered character in MultiVersus but he is balanced out by having nearly all of his attacks being on the slower side.

Harley Quinn

Harley Quinn comforting Taz in MultiVersus

Being the star of three different blockbuster movies, her own comic, an animated TV series, and featured as a playable in many other video games, it's no surprise Harley Quinn is in MultiVersus. Harley Quinn is voiced by Tara Strong who has been voicing her for many years in a fan-favorite performance.

Not only will she provide plenty of humorous quips but she's also armed with her famous baseball bat, mallet, and likely a few tricks for an Assassin class. Harley is a pure brawler with her special attacks being less-important, although she can place traps and end her dash ability with a projectile attack.

Wonder Woman

Joining the ranks of many talented women who have voiced Wonder Woman is Abby Trot. Trot has voiced many characters such as Nezuko in Demon Slayer, Yoh Asakura in Shaman King, and was recently the voice of Karlee in Back 4 Blood.

Wonder Woman wields a sword, shield, and her famous Lasso Of Truth. All of these give her many abilities in combat in MultiVersus as a Tank class character.

Shaggy Rogers

Shaggy Rogers in his ultimate form in MultiVersus

Yes, Shaggy from Scooby-Doo is a playable Bruiser class fighter in MultiVersus. This is due to the infamy the character has gained as a meme over the last few years, with fans turning Shaggy into a godlike being capable of going Ultra Instinct from the Dragon Ball universe.

With the iconic Shaggy actor Matthew Lillard reprising the role again, the character is already a stand-out in MultiVersus. His combat is simple yet effective as a Bruiser, which is why he is the first recommended character for any new beginner. He's effective at any range and deals a lot of damage in a short time.

Velma Dinkley

Velma is MultiVersus best Support.

As strange as Shaggy as a fighter is, he at least had the memes to give him a means of fighting. Mystery Incorporated's very own Velma Dinkley, on the other hand, is the least likely to be a fighter and somehow MultiVersus has turned into one of the arguably overpowered characters on the roster.

Not only is Velma (voiced by Kate Micucci) effective at short range but her neutral attack is a ranged attack, capable of dealing damage to enemies and healing allies. As a Support class character, her special allows her to sprint across the stage thus carrying her allies and also deal heavy ramming damage to enemies.

The Iron Giant

The Iron Giant meeting Superman in MultiVersus

Currently, the Iron Giant is not playable but he was confirmed in the cinematic trailer that saw the Iron Giant finally meet his idol: Superman. Not only is his addition a nice taste of nostalgia, but it helps in further giving this character the love and attention that his film did not receive back in 1999.

According to the official MultiVersus website, the Iron Giant will be a Tank class character with his special movies currently unknown. Considering the number of weapons and capabilities he displayed in The Iron Giant movie, there is a lot for MultiVersus to choose from when it comes to his combat.
