New DLC for Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters entitled Duty Eternal will release next month, bringing a new layer of tactical strategy to the title. The Duty Eternal DLC will bring a brand-new class to the game, as well as an additional unit, strain of Bloom, and more. Players can tackle new missions, maps, and utilize a special kind of currency in order to continue the fight against Plague Lord Nurgle with their Grey Knights.

The new DLC continues the canon of Warhammer 40K: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters, expanding on its Bloom epidemic with a new strain in what developers are calling the Technophage Outbreak. The game's lore is also expanded through the addition of the long-requested Venerable Dreadnaught, which in Warhammer 40K lore are combat walkers that form a neural link between the powerful robotic machinery and mortally-wounded Space Marines for the rest of their lives. Dreadnaughts will be available for use as units after they join in an early mission of the new campaign, and one can be used as a fifth squad member for missions marked Technophage Outbreak any time there's a Bloomspawn eruption. Fittingly for their backstory, if a Dreadnaught's pilot falls in battle, players can replace them with their own wounded Grey Knight.

Players will have a new Warhammer 40K: Chaos Gate class build to play around with in Duty Eternal, with the DLC adding the Techmarine to the game. The class largely operates through the use of Combat Servitors, who are disposable allies that can be equipped and utilized for various jobs. Each is built for a specific function, like utilizing long arms to stop enemies from performing actions, melee combat, or repair, which can be used on Venerable Dreadnaughts as well as other Combat Servitors. The Techmarine is a base class, meaning they can be brought into any missions within the game.

Players can now command a secondary vessel in Daemonhunters called the Gladius Frigate, which can be used alongside the Baleful Edict for separate missions. This new ship - which can be used after defeating the Nurgle troops inside it - will add another layer to Chaos Gate's tactics gameplay, allowing them to fight back against the Bloom in two locations at once. However, unlike typical missions, these will be auto-resolved offscreen, with certain risks involved with each one that will determine its outcome.

Duty Eternal will introduce a new type of currency to Chaos Gate, Archeotech, which is used to unlock weapons and upgrades for the Venerable Dreadnaught and Techmarine as well as improve Gladius Frigate speed. It can be earned from Archeotech Caches that are recovered during Technophage Outbreak missions. The Dreadnaught has seven total weapons that can be unlocked, while the Techmarine will begin with an Omniscient Power Axe and have upgrades more focused on its Combat Servitors.

The first DLC for Chaos Gate: Daemonhunters looks to be quite promising, adding many new ways for player to enjoy the brutal Warhammer 40K tactics game. The Venerable Dreadnaught has been asked for by fans since the game's release, and the powerful new unit as well as the Techmarine class seem as though they'll both add a new layer of strategy to the game. Players can also enjoy a continuation of the Bloom storyline with the Technophage Outbreak missions, and will have many new ways to improve their efficiency with the Gladius Frigate. Fans will be able to take in everything Warhammer 40K: Chaos Gate - Daemon Hunters Duty Eternal has to offer when it releases later this year.
