Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters, a new Warhammer 40K game from Complex Games, will not be available on Game Pass, and with good reason. If Daemonhunters, a reboot of the 1998 video game Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate, were made available to Game Pass, it would be the 6th Warhammer video game available through the subscription service. Though first-day Game Pass releases have been a growing trend with other popular video game series, it would make sense that Daemonhunters wouldn't be immediately available through a subscription service.

Game Pass has been a massively popular subscription service for both PC and Xbox console players, likely even inspiring PlayStation to make changes to its own services. While both PS Plus and Game Pass have great deals and comparable prices, Xbox Game Pass has the added benefit of its PC Game Pass library, opening its expansive library to PC players. Microsoft has also released some of its biggest exclusive games, like Halo: Infinite and Outriders, for free through its Game Pass service at release. Given its popularity and trending day-one releases, it wouldn't be far outside the realm of possibility to release Daemonhunters on Game Pass.

If, however, Daemonhunters were released on Game Pass, it would join an already crowded library of Warhammer games. Daemonhunters would be the 6th video game that takes place in the Warhammer universe to be added. Total War: Warhammer 3 is available on Game Pass, along with four other games, including Space Hulk: Deathwing, Space Hulk: Tactics, Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2, and Warhammer 40K: Battlesector.

To further complicate the issue, both Total War: Warhammer 3 and Warhammer 40K: Battlesector were first-day releases on Game Pass. With two major Warhammer releases going straight to Game Pass, it brings to question why Daemonhunters wouldn't follow suit. Complex Games could have decided against oversaturating Game Pass with its newest Warhammer 40K game, or it could have simply chosen to release the game at full price. Either way, Daemonhunters will not be available to play on Game Pass - at least on release day.

Despite being unavailable on Game Pass, Warhammer 40K: Chaos Gate- Daemonhunters offers tactical chaos in no short supply as a strategy RPG game. Players control the Grey Knights, some of the most intimidating Space Marines, as they battle the forces of Chaos attempting to spread the Bloom. Gameplay resembles that of XCOM 2 in many ways, allowing players to manage their ships, customize soldiers, and ship off to turn-based enemy battles. Sadly, though, Warhammer 40K fans will have to shell out the full price of the game to get their hands on Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters.
