At Gamescom 2021War Hospital was revealed as a M*A*S*H-reminiscent management sim set during World War 1, and it focuses on what happens after virtual soldiers get injured in the trenches. With major FPS franchises like Call of Duty: Vanguard returning to WW2, it's clear that game studios large and small are far from done exploring the world's two largest human conflicts, but War Hospital is going a very different way about it.

Though currently in alpha, developer Brave Lamb Studio and publisher Nacon revealed War Hospital during Gamescom 2021. The first teaser trailer is very brief, showing only around ten seconds of gameplay, but it's enough to get those who may be interested on board. A British motorized ambulance can be seen presumably carting wounded soldiers from the frontline, caught in the crossfire between friendly and enemy soldiers. At the field hospital that players run, medics can be seen transporting a gurney (which is empty, but the game is in alpha) into a tent before showing staff in the process of performing an amputation on a wounded soldier, at which point a quick look at War Hospital's UI is given.

Little else is known about how the game will play for now, but the teaser did set a 2022 release window - and a more specific Q4 2022 is listed on its Steam page. It's one of several management sim games that made an appearance at the conference, as Jurassic World Evolution 2's release date was also revealed amid of sea of indies like Timberborn during the Future Games Show, but War Hospital's alternate take on war games may have been a memorable hook for viewers.
