Wanted fans can curve a bullet in real life with the new Nerf guns. The 2008 film starring James McAvoy (X-Men: First Class), Angelina Jolie (Maleficent), and Morgan Freeman (The Dark Knight Rises), and directed by Timur Bekmambetov (Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter) involved a young man who couldn’t find his place in life until he discovered that he’s descended from an ancient order of assassins, tasked with steering fate and safeguarding the destiny of the world. Possessing increased speed, senses, reflexes, and hand-to-hand combat prowess, McAvoy’s character Wesley, along with the other assassins, were expert marksmen who could “curve” or alter the direction of the bullets they fire in mid-air.

Nerf recently announced three new Curve Shot blasters — The NERF RIVAL CURVE SHOT FLEX XXI-100, and the NERF RIVAL CURVE SHOT SIDESWIPE XXI-1200, which will be available at most major toy retailers, and the NERF RIVAL CURVE SHOT HELIX XXI-2000, a Target exclusive.  All three are part of Nerf’s “Rival” line of shooters that fire foam balls instead of foam darts, and all three have ridged, adjustable barrels that can be rotated to employ backspin, bending shot trajectory to the side, or even downward. Much like in the film Wanted, the shooter can surprise their opponent with mistimed shots or hit them at unexpected angles when they think they are safely behind cover.

Nerf has been the leader in usable toy guys based on and inspired by pop-culture for a long time. In addition to some new, soon-to-be-released Fortnight replicas, they’ve also recently debuted unique new weapon models from the hit Disney+ series, The Mandalorian. Although the three new Rival Curve Shots may not closely resemble the firearms from Wanted in appearance, their operation mechanics are identical, and that which fans will enjoy emulating. The Curve Shot Flex and Sideswipe will be available on March 1st, 2021, and the Curve Shot Helix will launch in August, later this year.
