The last comedic offering from the house of Judd Apatow is Wanderlust, the story of two urban yuppies who get a new look at life via a strange (and funny) stay at a rural commune, where the love is free, the vibe is mellow, and the communal spirit makes a little thing like privacy into an outdated notion.
Today we have a red-band trailer for Wanderlust to share, offering a taste of the raunchy humor that will be featured in the film - something the Wanderlust green-band trailer hinted at, but did not explore fully.
Paul Rudd and Jennifer Aniston star as George and Linda, an uptight Manhattanite couple who suddenly find themselves out of work and looking for a life change. They end up at the aforementioned commune and in the company of weird alternative lifestyle types played by the likes of Alan Alda, Malin Akerman (Watchmen), Joe Lo Truglio (Superbad), Lauren Ambrose (Six Feet Under), Kathryn Hahn (Step Brothers), Key and Peele stars Jordan Peele and Keegan Michael Key, Justin Thereoux (Tropic Thunder) and others.
Check out the free-spirited hijinks that ensue in the Wanderlust red-band trailer:
Wanderlust was directed by David Wain, and like his previous film, Role Models, this looks like it will be the familiar mix of dirty jokes and genuine, life-examining sentiment that has become the brand stamp of camp Apatow (Judd holds a producer credit on the film). With a mix of some charming leads in Rudd and Aniston, a collection of some funny character actors, drugs, and of sex-play, it doesn't seem like Wanderlust will disappoint comedy fans looking for a good laugh.
