WandaVision has introduced two new young heroes to the MCU in Billy and Tommy (aka Wiccan and Speed), and there’s reason to believe Wanda’s twin’s could survive outside the Westview hex, unlike their father, Vision. When Vision tried to escape Scarlet Witch’s barrier, he immediately started to decay and die, suggesting the magic within the bubble is keeping him alive. That’s led some fans to believe Tommy and Billy – both of whom were also seemingly conceived by Wanda’s powers – would also perish outside the hex.

However, there are some notable differences between Vision’s presence in Westview and the twins’ existence. The synthezoid was dead and dissected when Wanda took Vision's body from SWORD, and it seems that she used her magic to reanimate that which was formerly alive. That’s very different from her sons, who never existed in any way before being created (apparently from nothing) in Westview. Even though Speed and Wiccan were created using Wanda’s Westview magic, there’s reason to suspect they'd be able to survive outside the barrier.

For starters, Tommy and Billy have already exhibited impressive powers in their own right. Wanda is unable to control them, their growth, or their abilities, which suggests they have a level of autonomy that could translate into sentience and survival outside the hex. A lot of the details of the boys' abilities are tied to their origin, of course, which is still largely unknown. But where Vision dying outside the hex makes sense (as he was previously dead when outside Westview), there’s no precedent for what could happen if two people created in the bubble tried to leave it.

Billy and Tommy Powers in WandaVision

Another reason to believe Billy and Tommy will survive beyond Wanda’s hex is their broader story in the Marvel comics. Both boys are key members of the Young Avengers – a superhero squad that’s already been hinted at by the presence of Kate Bishop in the upcoming Hawkeye series. Speed and Wiccan have extended stories throughout Marvel lore, and they could be key pieces to future narrative arcs in the MCU. Unless, of course, WandaVision goes entirely down the “House of M” tunnel, which would necessitate the twins’ tragic deaths.

Ultimately though, the potential of Speed and Wiccan in the MCU is much more interesting if they survive their ordeal in Westview. There’s plenty of reason to suspect the twins are capable of existing beyond the direct purview of Wanda’s magic due to Billy and Tommy's powers, and there are plenty of stories waiting for them if they continue as core characters in the franchise. Tommy and Billy’s fates are still up in the air, however, and will depend largely on how WandaVision explains their creation and the origin of their abilities.
