WandaVision will end up in a full MCU action movie. The first series to kick off Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, WandaVision will arrive on Disney+ with a two episode-premiere on January 15. Set after the events of Avengers: Endgame, the highly-anticipated series will see the return of Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany) as they appear to settle into a blissful suburban life together. However, things take a weird turn when the couple realizes everything is not as it seems, hinting at some dark secrets that will possibly explain how Vision is still alive after his death in Avengers: Infinity War. The two appear to navigate multiple realities, channeling different sitcoms through different decades.

Described as the MCU'S take on a sitcom, WandaVision pulls inspiration from the golden age of television like The Brady Bunch, I Love Lucy, and Bewitched in various promos. WandaVision will show the pair jumping between timelines, with parts of the trailers showing them in black and white to depict the classic sitcom style. The first episode was even filmed in front of a live studio audience as an homage to The Dick Van Dyke Show and in an effort to really recreate iconic sitcoms. Wanda and Vision's domestic life with the eery and creepy tone makes it undoubtedly the strangest MCU story yet. However, it's been revealed that the series does not necessarily remain in the sitcom-style world through the whole show.

In an interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Paul Bettany explained how the show will evolve from the sitcom-style to a full-on MCU action movie. The Vision actor confirmed Kimmel's theory that the sitcom-world of the show will not make up the whole storyline. "That’s 100 percent correct," said Bettany. The actor went on to say, "We hurtle through the decades, and we hit different genres of sitcoms and then Vision begins to think that this is getting a little weird, you know. And in the end, you end up in full, MCU action movie."

With less than a week before the first MCU series premieres, Disney and Marvel Studios have remained tight-lipped about the show and how it connects to the MCU. Though much of the details have remained a mystery, Bettany's comment is not the first hint at the action-packed show. Teyonah Parris, who plays the grown-up Monica Rambeau, called the show "a full-on action movie, mixed with sitcoms."

While it's clear that WandaVision is going to be something completely different from anything fans have seen in the MCU before, it sounds like they will still get the classic Marvel movie action content. Before the trailer was even released, WandaVision was arguably already the most anticipated of all of the upcoming MCU shows. The mystery surrounding Vision's survival in the show and how the story is connected to the MCU makes the show even more intriguing. Early reactions to WandaVision have been very positive, and thankfully fans will get to see for themselves what the series holds in less than a week.
