WandaVision scene-stealer Kathryn Hahn is interested in returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Agatha Harkness. As Disney+'s first MCU series, WandaVision made a major splash after debuting in January 2021. Part of this can be chalked up to its appeal to both long-time Marvel enthusiasts and new viewers. The show's early sitcom homages provided an entry point, while later episodes lent themselves especially well to theorizing. WandaVision's performances were also a big draw, with series leads Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany earning praise.

However, one of WandaVision's most talked about moments came courtesy of Hahn's Agatha. In episode 7, "Breaking the Fourth Wall," Agatha revealed her true identity after masquerading as Wanda and Vision's neighbor, Agnes. The announcement came with "Agatha All Along," WandaVision's catchy song standout. Agatha continued to play a pivotal role in episodes 8 and 9, culminating in a massive battle with Wanda. Finally claiming her Scarlet Witch persona from the comics, Wanda defeated Agatha and sentenced her to continue living as Agnes in Westview.

Since Agatha ends WandaVision still alive, it stands to reason she could return at some point in the future. In an interview with The New York Times, Hahn was asked if Agatha will appear in the MCU again, she admitted, "I have no idea. They keep it really tight." However, Hahn did say she would be interested in playing Agatha again:

I want to. Now that I have a taste of it, I’m like, ahh. I really, really love it.

Agatha surviving the WandaVision finale didn't come as too much of a surprise for a few reasons. One, though the show did a good job of making viewers understand Scarlet Witch's actions in Westview, she still ends the series having done a lot of damage. Adding Agatha's death may have skewed the audience's view of her, despite all of the havoc the witch caused. However, the more likely reason for Agatha's survival is the very thing discussed in the interview: it allows the character to return at some point in the future. Though Marvel had no way to predict how much viewers would enjoy Agatha as a character, they likely had some idea considering Hahn's magnetic performance, making it a good call to leave the door open for her return.

With these recent comments from Hahn, Agatha coming back now seems even more likely. If Hahn is telling the truth about having "no idea" if she'll reprise her role in the MCU, then an appearance in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, as some have predicted, seems unlikely. That movie is already shooting, so Hahn would know by now if she was in it. Despite this, hopefully Agatha does return at some point after WandaVision, maybe to take on more of the mentor role with Scarlet Witch seen in the comics, though it's hard to know what the future holds at this time.
