WandaVision season 2 is something many people would want to see, and here's what we know about it so far. Although its concept was certainly wacky and unprecedented for the superhero genre, WandaVision took its experimental approach in its stride and became quite a phenomenon. Its humor, twists, and worldbuilding, all combined with Wanda Maximoff's heartbreaking story arc, managed to turn the series into a must-watch show in the same vein as Disney+'s other series, The Mandalorian.

When Marvel Studios officially announced WandaVision, the series wasn't meant to launch the MCU's Phase 4. Instead, that honor was going to go to Black Widow, which would've been followed up by The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. WandaVision would've come shortly thereafter, but things changed along the way and it ultimately became the first Marvel Studios TV show to release. In hindsight, this was all for the best, seeing as WandaVision takes place only a few weeks after Avengers: Endgame and it sets up the franchise's multiverse story.

Even though the franchise is expanding with TV shows, Marvel is adamant about everything in the universe remaining connected to each other. So, Wanda's story will continue after WandaVision, with Scarlet Witch confirmed to appear in 2022's Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. And since Doctor Strange himself will be appearing in Spider-Man: No Way Home, there may be some narrative links there as well to WandaVision. Regardless, after spending eight weeks with Wanda and Vision, as well as their family and friends, WandaVision season 2 is what fans may really want to see in the near future.

Unfortunately, Marvel currently has no plans to make WandaVision season 2, according to series director Matt Shakman. WandaVision was envisioned as a limited series that would lead into other properties - particularly Doctor Strange 2 - and it was used to bridge the gap in Scarlet Witch's story following Endgame. However, that's not to say WandaVision season 2 can't happen. The studio is already working on What If...? season 2 and there are reports of Loki season 2 happening as well, which means there's precedent for Marvel renewing WandaVision for season 2.

If WandaVision season 2 were to happen, it wouldn't come out for quite some time. With Elizabeth Olsen working on Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and there not being a story in place for a second season yet, WandaVision season 2 couldn't release until 2023 at the earliest. While season 1's production was impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, it still took Marvel at least a full year to develop and write the story before they began filming, with the original plan to release season 1 a year later.

WandaVision Season 2 Story Details

WandaVision season 2's story would, of course, need both Wanda and Vision. With the MCU expanding into the multiverse in Phase 4, anything's possible regarding their futures, particularly with White Vision still being out there in the world. WandaVision season 2 could dive deeper into Scarlet Witch's Chaos Magic, the origin of the name, her comic connections to other characters, and even her being a Nexus Being (using the Darkhold) - one of the most powerful characters in all Marvel stories. But then there's Wanda's children, Billy and Tommy, who are both Young Avengers. Since Phase 4 seems to be laying the foundation for a Young Avengers movie or team-up in the future, WandaVision season 2 could use the time to bring them back (given the end-credits scene tease) and set up their abilities some more. Of course, only time will tell how all of that shakes out and if WandaVision season 2 actually happens.
