A Marvel fan breaks down the new version of WandaVision's post-credit scene and explains who the mysterious figure in it. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, MCU Phase 4 was kicked off on the small screen via the Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany-led show. It's been a couple of months since it ended its nine-episode run, and for some reason, there's supposedly something new added to its stinger.

WandaVision remains to be the most unique Marvel Studios offering to date. But while it mined storytelling inspiration from past sitcoms, it eventually became a more traditional MCU fare focusing on Wanda's suppressed trauma over the years. The show was expected to set the stage for the events of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness which is confirmed to be connected with each other, but it mostly maintained a character-driven narrative. The re-edited version of WandaVision's post-credits scene, however, is reviving conversations about the matter.

WandaVision's slightly tweaked stinger features what appears to be an unclear figure descending down the mountains that surround Scarlet Witch's isolated cabin. There have been theories that this is either Doctor Strange or White Vision. However, user curtskelton from TikTok broke down the said scene and revealed that it's nothing but a minor editing mistake. Check out his explanation below:

It's not impossible to think that this was merely a small detail that fans read too much into. However, aside from the actual visual, the addition of Doctor Strange's theme in the WandaVision post-credits scene is backing up theories that this moving figure may mean something more down the line. As previously mentioned, MCU's inaugural Phase 4 project will have a narrative link to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Scarlet Witch is also confirmed to appear in the movie. arguably almost as a co-headliner. Given this, it's possible that Marvel Studios is planting Easter eggs, as late as it may be, that will eventually amount to something moving forward. After all, there were plans for the future Sorcerer Supreme to be involved in the Maximoff Anomaly but were scrapped.

Whatever the case may be, unless Marvel Studios comes out with an official statement about the matter, this will continue to be a favorite topic of conversation among fans who are obsessing over the detail. But, chances are that people involved won't go out of their way to address the matter. If anything, lively discussions about their projects like WandaVision are as effective as traditional marketing campaigns in terms of promoting their offerings. They might even lean into it as the release of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness nears.
