Kat Dennings reveals that Darcy Lewis, most recently seen in Wandavision, didn't disappear in Thanos' snap at the end of Avengers: Infinity War.  After a top-secret audition process for Marvel, Dennings first played Darcy in Thor, with the character being introduced as Jane Foster's (Natalie Portman) assistant. She reprised the role in Thor: The Dark World but wasn't seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe again until Wandavision. Darcy is called in to monitor what is happening in Westview, where Wanda has created an alternate sitcom-based reality.

It's unclear where Darcy has been in the intervening years. However, she's been working her Ph.D., as she's now called "Doctor Lewis" in Wandavision, confirming she's acquired the title after serving as an assistant in Thor and Thor 2. But beyond that, her role in the events of the MCU is unknown, and it's even unclear if she'll be involved in any future stories, as Dennings never got a call from Marvel for a Thor: Love and Thunder return. There's no doubt, though, that she's integral to the plot of the Disney+ show, and that might be because she's been around for the past five years, where many others haven't.

In her Wandavision interview with Screen Rant, Dennings says that while talking to the creative team about what happened to her character before the show's events, they decided that she hadn't been blipped out of existence by Thanos' snap. She adds that she loves to imagine the flashback scene to the incident, showing how Darcy reacts to it, as she thinks it would be "hilarious." You can read her full comments below:

The main question I had for the writers was, "Was Darcy blipped?" Like, what happened? We decided amongst ourselves that she was not blipped. And while we don't see that flashback, I like as an actor to imagine Darcy in the blip. Because that would be hilarious.

Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis

The fact that Darcy wasn't snapped out of existence by Thanos makes sense, as it means she's had time to grow into the commanding presence she is in the series, rather than having just been returned to reality a few weeks before like Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris). This gives her an edge over some of the other characters in the series and perhaps explains why Darcy has a more prominent role in Wandavision than Dennings expected.

Sadly, it seems as though she won't be returning to the MCU any time soon after Wandavision season 1 is done, which makes one wonder what happens to her in the remaining episodes of the series. She may well have survived the blip, but did Marvel bring her back only to see her killed at the hands of Wanda, or another potential powerful individual, in the series? Audiences have three episodes left to find out.
