WandaVision's Kathryn Hahn discusses how Agatha Harkness can return in the MCU. Although the true villain of WandaVision was always Wanda Maximoff's (Elizabeth Olsen) grief, Agatha proved to be a formidable magical foe to Wanda as well. It was Agatha who threw a wrench into Wanda's grief-drenched fantasy world of Westview, and ironically it was Agatha who helped Wanda come to terms with accepting her destiny as the Scarlet Witch.

Even though many Marvel fans accurately predicted that Hahn's Westview character Agnes was really Agatha Harkness, the big reveal in episode 7, "Breaking the Fourth Wall," was still undeniably epic. Agatha's primary objective all along was to steal Wanda's dangerously powerful chaos magic for herself. However, what initially appeared to be a major power play on Agatha's part turned out to be her undoing. After all, Wanda had no idea that she was an actual witch, let alone that her powers were magic until Agatha told her. Ironically, Agatha turned out to be the magic teacher Wanda needed to start to begin understanding the full depth and breadth of her powers.

Hahn said that she would love to return as Agatha in an interview with Gold Derby (via Comicbook.com). The actress said she hadn't been asked to return to the MCU just yet. However, Hahn has clearly thought about the possibilities of how Agatha could feasibly return. Check out how Hahn thinks Agatha could return below.

"If I were to ever come back, there's so many aspects of her that I think are fascinating. She touches in so many different worlds throughout the comics... You know, she's a centuries-old witch and has seen a lot, and there's a lot of different people and beings that she's crossed paths with over the last couple of centuries, so that would be a blast to explore."

Agatha Using Magic in WandaVision

Hahn's take on Agatha's possible return is right on the mark. Agatha's character was first introduced in a Fantastic Four comic back in 1970. Like Hahn said, Agatha has a rich comic history that could be easily adapted into the MCU. It's difficult to fathom Hahn's Agatha not returning to the MCU in some capacity.

After all, Hahn did a fantastic job of playing the dual roles of the noisy neighbor Agnes and the cunningly brilliant Agatha in WandaVision. Not only that, but Hahn's Agatha presented an actual challenge to Wanda, who could've easily defeated Thanos in Avengers: Endgame if the Mad Titan hadn't initiated a blitz to stop her. Agatha on the other hand forced Wanda to accept reality, a feat that everyone else in WandaVision failed at miserably.

Agatha did warn Wanda that she'd need her help eventually in the WandaVision series finale. At this point it doesn't seem like a question of if Hahn will return as Agatha, but when will Hahn return as Agatha. Regardless of what the MCU future holds for Agatha Harkness, there's no doubt that Hahn's portrayal of the character was downright magical.
