WandaVision star Randall Park says Jimmy Woo's card tricks show character growth. Park first played fan-favorite FBI agent James "Jimmy" Woo in Ant-Man and the Wasp, serving as Scott Lang's monitor. In that film, Woo earnestly asks Lang how he performed a magic card trick, which Lang describes as close-up magic. Woo is later caught practicing the card trick in his office. It's a funny part of Ant-Man and the Wasp that makes Woo particularly endearing.

Woo finally makes his Marvel Cinematic Universe return in episode four of WandaVision. In it, he introduces himself to S.W.O.R.D. agent Monica Rambeau as he finally and effortlessly pulls off the card trick he couldn't master before. Of course, Agent Woo doesn't have time to gloat over his mastery of the mystic card arts, as Rambeau accidentally gets sucked into the Westview anomaly just minutes after their initial introduction. Woo quickly becomes a part of the Westview investigation as S.W.O.R.D. begins to monitor the WandaVision episodes. Woo quickly fills up a whiteboard full of his questions and theories as to what possibly could be going on with the town nobody seems to remember.

In an interview with The Wrap, Park discussed Woo's card tricks, connecting them with his character growth. Check out what Park had to say about his WandaVision character and his card tricks below.

I don’t know who exactly came up with the idea of opening with that, but I’m so glad they did. But it’s not surprising to me, because Marvel is just so detail oriented...That one instance, it does show a lot of character development. The guy has gotten better, at not just that [the card trick], but probably a number of things. Taking on bigger cases. And so I think that’s really cool.

WandaVision Episode 4 - Jimmy Woo and Darcy

Agent Woo's return to the MCU in WandaVision was a welcome treat (the character even got his own Twitter emoji.) His mastery of the card trick was a clever way to reintroduce his character and include a callback to Ant-Man and the Wasp at the same time. It's no wonder Park loves that the card trick got a well-earned payoff. Now that Woo is deep in the Westview investigation alongside Thor fan-favorite Darcy Lewis (Kat Dennings) it's evident the FBI agent will have a chance to shine even more and develop as a character beyond his card trick expertise.

It remains to be seen if Agent Woo will be the man to crack WandaVision's Westview case. There are only five episodes left of the mind-blowing MCU television series, and it feels like each episode adds additional layers of mysteries and theories. Thankfully, Agent Woo demonstrated his dedication to getting something right, even if it takes years. This could bode well for uncovering the truth of what's happening with Wanda and Vision. Episode five of WandaVision premieres Friday, February 5, on Disney+.
