Marvel Studios President, Kevin Feige, was mad at Ms. Marvel star Iman Vellani for watching WandaVision wrong. Vellani stars as Kamala Khan, the titular superhero the MCU's latest Disney+ series. The show centers on the Jersey City high school student who is imbued with cosmic powers through a special bangle that once belonged to her grandmother. Like her character, Vellani is a self-professed super-fan of Marvel's pantheon of heroes and has consumed everything the MCU has to offer.

As a young child, when the films were first released, the actor grew up watching the growing list of the MCU's serialized movies and television series, developing a deep knowledge and love of the material. The actor recently engaged in a playful debate with Feige over the official designation of the MCU due to contradictory information presented by the studio in the past and through its recent spate of films. However, she recently angered the Marvel Studios head over how she watched WandaVision.

Ms. Marvel star Saagar Shaikh, who plays Kamala's older brother Aamir, recently shared (via Marvel) a story about how Feige was distressed over how Vellani was watching WandaVision. The Elizabeth Olsen-led series began airing while Ms. Marvel started shooting season 1. As the loyal fan Vellani is, the actor attempted to stay abreast of the new show when she could, forcing her to watch on her tablet or phone. According to Shaikh, Feige once caught Vellani watching WandaVision on her phone and got mad at her. Read what the actor had to say about the incident below.

"I'll tell you a secret. Kevin Feige got mad at her for watching WandaVision on her phone. He's like, 'They're not made for phones! Watch it on TV!'"

Kamala Khan's Power in Ms. Marvel

With WandaVision being the MCU's first high-budget Disney+ series, it is understandable that Feige would be upset at the fact that one of his stars was watching the show in the way in which it was not intended. On top of that, by the show's design, WandaVision is written in such a way that it emulates various styles of TV sitcoms over the years, from Bewitched to Family Ties to Modern Family. Watching a television show, that is specifically designed to look very much like a television show, on one of the smallest screens around would no doubt be incongruous with the series' aesthetic.

As the public has changed the way media is consumed, content creators have been divided in their response to the evolution. Many filmmakers have pushed back against the dominance of streaming services, seeing it as a threat to the movie industry, while others have embraced the change by tailoring their content to the new media delivery methods. Regardless of the prolonged debate, Vellani does not seem to care how she gets her MCU fix, whether it be at home in front of her television or on the set of Ms. Marvel using her phone, as long she is able to catch the latest episode in Feige's seemingly never-ending cinematic franchise.
