WandaVision is setting its two main characters on a collision course, hinting that it will be Vision who stops the Scarlet Witch. The first MCU Disney+ show has now crossed the halfway point of its first season, and recent episodes have only just begun to unravel the mystery of what's really happening with Wanda and Vision in the suburbs of Westview.

In WandaVision episode 5 "On a Very Special Episode...", the carefully manipulated reality Wanda has created begins breaking apart - and largely because of Vision, because he's started asking questions. Like the SWORD agents examining the Westview anomaly from outside the Hex, Vision is trying to understand how he came to be in this town, living this life. Unsurprisingly, his suspicions anger Wanda, who is more than happy to live in this alternate reality no matter the consequences.

This growing tension between Vision and Wanda is only complicated by the fact that Wanda herself appears to be the one responsible for all of it - the town, the people in it, and even Vision being alive. In time, the more Vision learns about what's happening in Westview and Wanda's role in it, he'll have no choice but to stop her. And as it turns out, Vision is the only one who can stop Wanda.

Vision Will Soon Learn The Truth About His Death

For the most part, Wanda has been able to hide the truth from Vision through clever edits of reality, like when she turned back time after a SWORD agent infiltrated town via the sewer. She hasn't been able to stop Vision from picking up on every weird occurrence, however, and he took notice of moments like Herb distractedly cutting through his garden wall or the suddenness of Geraldine's departure.

Since then, Vision has only grown more suspicious, and in WandaVision episode 5, Vision uses his abilities to briefly unlock Norm's mind from Wanda's control, finally learning the ugly truth that Westview's residents are all trapped. He later confronts her about it and this leads to a big argument, but before Vision and Wanda can even begin to resolve their dispute, it's put on hold by the unexpected arrival of Wanda's twin brother, Pietro.

Vision isn't about to let his suspicions go, though, and in time he sure's to learn the truth about his life - and death - prior to arriving in Westview. Previews for upcoming episodes of WandaVision show Vision unlocking Agnes' mind in a similar manner to Norm's and her revealing to him he's dead. Other clips have teased Vision attempting to leave the Hex surrounding Westview, suggesting he's determined to learn the whole truth about what's happening. But what happens once he does?

How Vision Will React To Learning The Truth

Elizabeth Oslen and Paul Bettany fighting in WandaVision episode 5

Upon learning the truth about his death at the hands of Thanos and his resurrection within Westview, Vision is bound to feel betrayed. Not only does bringing him back to life go against his own wishes, but by doing so within such an elaborate fantasy, Wanda is holding an entire town hostage. Wanda's actions have also made her an enemy within the eyes of SWORD, undoing the goodwill she earned from her time working alongside the Avengers. This whole mess won't sit well with Vision, and it's made all the worse by knowing it's Wanda who is responsible.

Initially, Vision is sure to direct his anger at Wanda just as he does in WandaVision episode 5, with the two possibly even coming to blows as they almost do in their living room. Wanda is incredibly powerful, though, potentially even the most powerful character within the MCU. And while Vision is also an extremely powerful character, having received his powers from the same Infinity Stone as Wanda, the Mind Stone, she is operating on an entirely different level in WandaVision, as evidenced by the massive amounts of CMBR her magic is putting off.

Monica Rambeau also describes feeling immense pain and grief from Wanda's magic, implying her new found powers are being fueled by these emotions. It was with the pain of Vision's death still fresh in her mind that Wanda was able to go toe-to-toe with Thanos, so it would make sense that as she sinks deeper into grief, her powers increase. If this is the case, then defeating Wanda through a fight won't be possible as her grief at losing her parents, her home, her brother, and Vision is too overwhelming. Instead, the only chance there is of stopping Wanda is by convincing her to stop herself, and the only one who can do that is Vision.

Why Vision Is The Only One Who Can Make Wanda Accept The Truth

Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany in WandaVision episode 5

Vision will need to convince Wanda to stop on her own, and to do that, he'll need to convince her of the truth. In her grief, Wanda is unwilling to accept the fact that Vision is dead, seemingly rewriting reality to making him alive again. And her spell is so powerful that along with tricking Vision and all of Westview into believing that's true, she's tricked herself into believing it, too. But in bringing Vision back, however she did it, Wanda also brought in to Westview the one person capable of stopping her.

Though it's still unclear exactly how Wanda resurrected Vision, she's done so in a way where he's been able to retain his powers. This raises questions about whether or not she actually reformed the Mind Stone seeing as it's a part of Vision, but regardless if the Infinity Stone is back or not, Vision's powers are. In WandaVision episode 5, Vision uses his powers to free Norm's mind of Wanda's spell and he'll do the same to Agnes in a future episode. This suggests he may try to do just that to Wanda, freeing her mind of her own grief-stricken spell and forcing her to finally accept the truth.

In doing that, he may appear to Wanda as he did in a previous episode where Vision briefly looked like his corpse, dropping the illusion he's actually alive, or he may simply die again, no longer being kept alive once Wanda's spell is completely broken. Given that we still don't know how Wanda brought Vision back - including whether or not it's something she managed to do alone - it's hard to know what happens when Wanda finally accepts the truth. But it will be Vision who gets through to her and convinces Wanda what she's doing is wrong. It's a heartbreaking and tragic end for WandaVision, having what Wanda wants most be the what takes it away, but it's the only chance there is of stopping her. There's no one but Vision who can make Wanda see the truth because there's no one else capable of breaking her spell, and there's no one but Vision who could make Wanda accept it because there's no one else she trusts as much as him.
