WandaVision will have more episodes than originally thought. The MCU's first show, WandaVision has been shrouded in a layer of secrecy like no television before it. Vague details about its plot have trickled out in WandaVision posters and trailers as Disney gears up for it to hit their streaming service. Still, much has been left to be deciphered by eagle-eyed fans, including the show's episode account.

Because of its massive $150 million budget, many assumed the show would be on the shorter end. Six episodes seemed like a decent run for Marvel's first go at a television show,  A recent post on Disney Latino hinted at an eight-week run, but nothing had been confirmed by official sources, even as its premiere date looms nearer. Now, though, Disney has revealed just how many episodes WandaVision will have.

According to a Disney press release, WandaVision will have nine episodes. The show will debut episodes weekly, similar to The Mandalorian's rollout. WandaVision will conclude on March 5, 2021, eight weeks after its initial debut. Touted as a one-of-a-kind project, it sounds as if each episode will be encompass a different era of sitcoms, ranging from the 1960s all the way to the early 2000s.

WandaVision Babies

WandaVision's episode count is exciting for a few reasons. Not only is it longer than expected, giving fans plenty of time with two characters not seen since 2019's Avengers: Endgame, but it will also be the first Marvel property to be released in over a year. 2020 was the first year since 2009 that saw no content come out of the Marvel machine, and WandaVision is set to kick off a banner year for Marvel Studios. Four films are set to hit theaters in 2021 (Black Widow, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Eternals, and Spider-Man 3), barring any further delays.

On top of that, 2021 will see the debut of several high-profile Marvel television shows. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, Hawkeye, and Ms. Marvel will all hit Disney+ this year. Episode counts for each of those shows have not been revealed, but if WandaVision is any indication, it could be around the same amount. That means Marvel will have a steady stream of content hitting screens nearly every week of this year. Additionally, WandaVision's premiere could see two episodes hit Disney+ on January 15 if its end date is any indication. With less than two weeks until WandaVision hits Disney+, anticipation is at an all-time high as Marvel gets ready to move into Phase 4 in a big way.
