A fan edit reframes the reveal of Evan Peters' Quicksilver in WandaVision episode 5 by adding the popular Eurythmics song that was the soundtrack to his spotlight scene in X-Men: Apocalypse. The universal crossover was shocking to many, especially because it teases Marvel's dive into the multiverse in Phase 4.

Peters has portrayed the non-Marvel Cinematic Universe version of Quicksilver in three of Fox's X-Men films. One of his most memorable scenes took place in X-Men: Apocalypse. As the X-Mansion is engulfed in an explosion, Quicksilver uses his super speed to save everyone in the building in a time bending, gravity defying showcase. Along with Peters' other spotlight scene in X-Men: Days of Future Past, it's one of the most visually striking sequences in any superhero film, and the choice of the Eurythmics song "Sweet Dreams" gives the whole thing a suitably '80s feel.

Now Twitter user Crazy Fellini has melded arguably Quicksilver's two most iconic moments together, laying the Eurythmics song over the end credits for Peters' cameo on WandaVision. Check out the video below.

It's still not clear what Peters' Quicksilver arriving on Wanda's doorstep means for the rest of the Fox X-Men universe and its relationship to the MCU. It could simply be a very meta reference, or as Darcy Lewis (Kat Dennings) suggests, Wanda simply recasting her brother, yet another sitcom trope. But there are wider ranging potential ramifications here, especially considering the MCU is preparing to explore the concept of the multiverse more fully in its upcoming films like Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and the Tom Holland-starring Spider-Man 3. It's unclear if this is a one-off nod or the beginning of something much bigger in scope, but either way it has stoked a bevy of theories and expectations.

WandaVision has been revolutionary for the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a lot of ways. It is, by a significant margin, the weirdest thing to come out of the MCU. It's high concept in a way Marvel doesn't usually attempt on the big screen, a promising sign the Disney+ shows could offer some interesting new flavors of comic book storytelling. The Peters cameo is its most shocking turn so far, leading many to wonder who else could potentially show up in Westview before the curtain comes down on WandaVision. But if Peters' Quicksilver is the last shock cameo, it will still have made a significant mark on the future of the MCU.
