Warning: SPOILERS for WandaVision episode 1.

WandaVision episode 1 ends on a cliffhanger, so who is watching the "WandaVision" show at the end? Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has officially begun with Marvel Studios releasing the first episodes of WandaVision on Disney+. Despite taking place after Avengers: Endgame, the series sees Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and a mysteriously alive Vision (Paul Bettany) starting their new domestic lives in Westview. However, WandaVision presents the events of the show as if what is happening is part of a 1950s sitcom.

The recreated TV style to WandaVision isn't just a fun stylistic choice by Marvel Studios, though. At the end of WandaVision episode one, credits begin to roll on the show, only for it to be revealed that what has just happened is a show within a show. The "WandaVision" series is being watched by someone in the real world and outside of whatever is going on with Wanda and Vision. But, WandaVision stops short of showing who is watching these events. This cliffhanger raises a big question: who is watching "WandaVision" in WandaVision?

The end might not fully reveal who is watching "WandaVision," but there are several hints of the person's identity. We only see the white, feminine hands of the mystery person as they write notes after the episode's conclusion. The other tease for this individual's identity comes from the other monitors surrounding the TV screen. The screen to the left features a SWORD logo in the bottom right corner. With these teases, it appears the person watching "WandaVision" is a Caucasian working for SWORD. While that admittedly doesn't narrow the list of potential people by too much, the decision to tease this person's identity and not outright confirm it likely indicates it is someone familiar to MCU fans. As a result, the most likely reveal is that this person is Darcy Lewis (Kat Dennings).

Even though Darcy has not been seen in the MCU since Thor: The Dark World, she is one of the confirmed cast members for WandaVision. The marketing for the Disney+ series pointed to Darcy working directly with SWORD. There were even quotes in the lead up to WandaVision's release that suggest Darcy has an important role in the series and is a leader in her specific field of science. We don't know exactly where Darcy's specialties lie, but she's dealt with strange occurrences in the past. SWORD might have contacted Darcy to monitor whatever effects "WandaVision" is having on the real world.

Since Darcy is confirmed to be part of WandaVision's cast and aligned with SWORD, she is the clear frontrunner to be this person. That said, Marvel is great at giving fans red herrings to throw them off the actual correct answer, so are there other possibilities? One such twist could be that it is actually Kathryn Hahn's character Agnes who is watching the events of "WandaVision" unfold. Or, there is a chance that the individual in question is a surprise character that the MCU has yet to introduce. In any case, WandaVision is sure to reveal the answer to this mystery at some point this season.
