In order to save the world and Wanda from herself, WandaVision should repeat Avengers: Infinity War's tragic ending. The show seems to be heading in this direction, since Vision started to disintegrate as soon as he made it past the hex's barrier in WandaVision episode 6. Wanda is keeping her sitcom-fantasy intact because of her love for Vision, regardless of how disastrous it's turning out to be for reality and her mental stability.

Wanda endures unimaginable levels of trauma throughout The Avengers films: her parents' death when she's a child, Pietro's murder at the hands of Ultron, the Lagos' incident in Captain America: Civil War, having to murder Vision to save the universe, watching Thanos rewind time to destroy Vision again, vanishing due to the snap, and returning to find Vision's body literally torn apart as a SWORD experiment. Westview is her safe haven and shield from all the horrors she's experienced. It's also miraculous Wanda is still a semi-functioning being in WandaVision, though she seems closer than ever to a full and irreversible breakdown.

This is why it is essential that Vision must make the ultimate sacrifice at the end and have Wanda eliminate him once and for all. As heartbreaking as that would make the WandaVision finale, Wanda's control seems nearly nonexistent now, especially with the inclusion of Agatha Harkness. It would be a fitting conclusion to Vision's story and a proper beginning for Wanda to begin a healthy healing process. She hasn't had the chance to grieve anyone she's lost, and as long as she denies Vision's death, she will continue to spiral and struggle with keeping up appearances, which is seemingly what Agatha wants. Right now Wanda's happiness with Vision threatens innocent victims trapped within this world and the very fabric of reality, as she can transform any physical matter into something new and different. The longer she keeps the walls of the hex up and doesn't accept Vision's demise, the more dangerous she becomes and the likely it is that she'll change more of the world to fit her blissful suburban image.

Wanda killing Vision in Avengers Infinity War

To let go of Vision for good, Wanda will have to make that difficult decision herself or have Vision's blessing. It seems that the only being who will be able to stop Wanda is Vision, since she resurrected him and he's the most victimized out of all of Westview. Now that Darcy has updated him on everything that happened outside of the hex, he appears more than willing to confront Wanda on her conflicting emotions and her motivations for existing in this separate reality. It is possible he could awaken her true self like he did Norm, thereby bringing all of her trauma to the surface and convincing her to end the hex that way.

Conversely, Wanda may be forced to dismantle the hex at the end of WandaVision and fall deeper into despair. Perhaps this will inform the events of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. With only two episodes left of the series, there are several routes it could go. Wanda doesn't seem to have control over her mental faculties at the end of WandaVision episode 7, but the only way she can gain some peace of mind is by repeating the events of Infinity War. Whatever the outcome is, WandaVision promises to deliver a finale fans will likely discuss for years to come.
